I consider sexting and phone sex to be cheating.
Especially sexting, if you’re sexting someone you’re most definitely cheating. You’re having a dirty and sexual conversation with someone else while in a relationship and the conversation could lead to sending risqué photos. Phone sex to me is also cheating because you’re once again having a sexual conversation with someone else while in a relationship. I don’t believe in having sexual conversations with other people while in a relationship.

But generally;
- if you keep it a secret because you know your partner will get mad
Or
- if you wouldn't want your partner to do the same
It is cheating (or at least something you shouldn't do, and you know it)

You are trying to excuse your behavior by saying that it is not technically "cheating." That is not important. Does your behavior violate your partner's expectations of what you will and will not do with other guys? Of course it does. Would you ask, "Hey, I wanna have phone sex with another guy. You don't mind, do you?"

In phone sex there is no physical connection just the matter of some kinky words. I have known girls who do phone sex even when they have a boyfriend. According to me, it is not cheating.
