The Pornographic industry has reached its peak in the recent years, and today it is claimed to be one of the most prosperous industries with thousands of adherents. However, pornography is a contradictory issue that continues to be argued about. Debates on whether pornography is at all needed continue up to these days, but the solution to the problem has not yet been found. There are both pros and cons of pornography. Some of the most popular of them will be analyzed further.
As with last time, I will remain neutral the entire time, even in the comments. There are many people who might think it's silly this is a debate, but here in the United States of America, there are many people(especially women) who think it should be outright banned.
The Case for Pornography: Pros
1. Pornography Further Educates us on Sexual Relationships
Some people claim that instead of provoking a disrespectful attitude to everything related to sex, pornography encourages people to treat sexual relations with more respect. If a person is not that interested in pornography, however, it may be regarded just as a reference. This means that a person treats pornography as guidelines for inspiration and further actions. Furthermore, both partners may enjoy watching pornography if it inspires them towards sex. It might be regarded simply as a toy for people in love. Some couples watch pornography simply to satisfy their sexual desires and fantasies. Moreover, they might use the material in the pornographic movies for further action. It is not bad to treat pornography in the above mentioned manner. If a couple is interested in experimentation, they might enjoy watching pornographic movies and afterwards get pleasure from sexual intercourse with one another.
Common Rebuttal: We can educate ourselves on sex without resorting to sex videos, or images.

2. We Should Have the Legal Right to Indulge in our Sexual Desires
In my opinion, this is the strongest argument on this side: It's our right to do whatever we want, as long as we're not harming anyone else. If I want to watch pornography, I should have the freedom to do this. If a consenting adults want to have sex on camera for some cash, then allow it to happen. If a director wants to shoot porn for his/her business, allow it to happen. This argument is simple, and gets straight to the point.
Common Rebuttal: This assumes that pornography doesn't harm anyone, especially with sexual abuse allegations.

3. Economic Benefits
Believe it, or not, pornography is a multi-billion dollar industry. Here in the United States, it is actually an important business from an economic standpoint. On top of this, it creates many jobs: Directors, producers, sound technicians, actors/actresses, and so on. It's literally an industry. You may as well call it legalized prostitution, except there is no an audience. It's a game of supply, and demand. Nothing more, nothing less.
Common Rebuttal: Since people often waste money on pornography, it can actually create more debt, and harm the economy.
The Case Against Pornography: The Cons
1. It Displays Unrealistic Expectations
I definitely consider this the strongest argument on this side. Among the disadvantageous features of pornography are unrealistic expectations of the viewers. The viewers see sexually attractive women and men in the pornographic movies that are not always true to life. Some people suggest that watching of such pornographic videos can provoke unreal expectations in regard to how their own sexual partners have to look like and behave during the sexual intercourse. It has been proved that people who watch pornographic movies expect women to be more resourceful in sex, although in reality it cannot always be realized. In fact, people simply forget that those who are involved in pornographic industry just do their job and should not be perceived as those who really behave in this or that way during a sexual intercourse.
Common Rebuttal: This may be true for kids/pre-teens/teens, but most adults realize this isn't realistic, and is only fantasy.

2. Ironically, it Could Make it Harder for People to Become Aroused.
Furthermore, many of the pornographic movies instill a longing for unusual sexual practices in the viewers. If to watch such movies regularly, men and women might experience problems with getting aroused. Some studies have shown that pornographic movies might provoke a desire for experiments during the sexual intercourse. What is more, pornography leads to sexual addiction. It especially concerns the pornographic movies that can be found in the Internet. Just like alcohol and drugs, pornography might provoke a longing for more and more videos. Studies on addictive behavior show that too much pornography on the Internet provokes addiction among viewers towards such kind of videos. Therefore, some people are so desensitized to viewing sex on camera, that nothing really excited them anymore: Almost the same way a full blown drug-addict/alcoholic never gets the "buzz" anymore.
Common Rebuttal: Who cares? That's a risk we take, the same way people take risks with everything else in life.

3. Pornography is Often Sexual Abuse, Masked as a Movie
Here we go, with the most controversial reasoning on both sides: Many people, especially modern day Feminists, claim that a vast majority(if not all) pornographic movies are actually rape, sexual assault, or women who very reluctantly agree to sex. Many testimonials from female porn stars say if they refused sex, directors would beat them. Others have said that they would cry after the sex, or it would mentally demented them for the rest of their lives, since the men they had sex with were so disgusting. There are Feminist bloggers who are former porn stars, coming out, and saying that porn should be banned because it's basically legalized rape.
Common Rebuttal: Porn stars might only be doing it as a job, or for the money, but that's still consent, and this has been blown out of proportion.
What do you think? And please, make some suggestions for a new topic in the comments.
