Prostitute, noun: " person, in particular a woman, who engages in sexual activity for payment."
Prostitution is illegal in the vast majority of America, as well as many other countries worldwide. Many people believe it's wrong to promote it sense a sexual relationship should be something sacred shared between two emotionally intimate lovers. People are also worried that women who prostitute aren't thinking it through, and making a mistake they will regret in the future.
And while many of these concerns are valid and very appropriate, they do little to effect our culture today.
Based on a rough estimate approximately 69% of men have paid for a hooker at one point in their lives. (To be clear, this may not be accurate)
And I can't blame men for deciding to pay for a hookup, especially sense its so easily accessible in certain parts of America. The prices range dramatically from under $100 to over $1000, depending on the scenario, and this can obviously be very pricey, but the man gets what he wants sexually, and the woman gets paid enough to support herself.
But what are the risks?
The risks for the female prostitutes can be fatal, sense they never know who they might be picking up. Their client could be physically abusive, causing a lot of harm. The client could hit her, cut her, or even kidnap her.
Another risk is that prostitution is illegal in many places of the world, getting caught could call for a prison sentence or a large fine, as well as other complications.
Is prostitution okay?
Personally I believe that it's a personal opinion, and that there are better jobs available.
I think you should choose the safest option available, and this probably isn't the right job opportunity for you.
But what do you think? Please share your thoughts.

What Girls & Guys Said
29 76It's their choice, even if I don't like the idea of prostitution.
First, should have been a poll.
Second, bad. They are disease ridden plague rats who spread STDs.
False to fact, but thank you for showing your ignorance and prejudice.
@taleswapper Oh, you again... STDs are spread by sex and drugs, and many hookers have sex to buy drugs, and use drugs to numb the pain of being disposable plumbing. Their rates for getting STDs are much higher than general population, and many of them do not stop hooking after contracting a disease. As a traveling construction worker, I've seen quite a bit of where that leads, so I know better than to blindly believe you or fall to you mindless shaming which will only lead to more senseless deaths. You are fighting to ruin lives, both the hookers, their clients and the families thereof who know nothing of what their loved ones can now bring home.
And once again you speak from ignorance and moral indignation, rather than facts. You're consistent; I'll give you that. Wrong, but consistent.
@taleswapper Yup, troll spoted. No rebuttal, only mindless denial without anything to back it. Look, I'm guessing you're infected and that is why you are trying to downplay this. I hope not, but shame on you if that is the case. Actually, shame on you either way. If 20% of potential partners have an incurable STD, and you use a condom (average 83% effectiveness, but lets say you use it right and get the full lab 93%) to lower your risk. Lets say you have sex with each partner 30 times. That's a (1 - 0.93 = ) 7% chance of exposure per encounter with an infected partner, or (1 - (0.93^30) = ) 88.7% chance after all 30 encounters with said partner. That means each partner will give you give you a (0.20 * 0.887 = ) 17.7% chance of being exposed. If only one in five exposures lead to infection, that's a 3.5% chance of infection per partner. Lets see where that goes, shall we? Keep in mind that once infected, all future partners quit being the infection risk and become those at risk...
Partner (s) Odds of infection 1 3.5% 2 6.9% 3 10.1% 4 13.3% 5 16.3% 6 19.2% 7 22.1% 8 24.8% 9 27.4% 10 30.0% 11 32.4% 12 34.8% 13 37.1% 14 39.3% 15 41.4% 16 43.4% 17 45.4% 18 47.3% 19 49.2% 20 51.0% From there, we can see a prostitute with 600 encounters (the equivilant of 20 partners each having her 30 times, or roughly $60,000 to $75,000 worth of work) will have a whopping 51% chance of being infected, over 2.5x the normal population. Add in that this will affect her clients risk of exposure, making them higher risk, and the whole thing snowballs. Now, consider that this is ONE hypothetical disease. There are MANY REAL DISEASES, which greatly increases her risk of being infected with at least one of them... and, again, we only looked at perhaps a years worth of work with a hooker who ALWAYS practiced safe sex properly and didn't have other risk issues like injected drugs.
Oh, and this assumed that she started clean. To be really accurate, ad an additional 20% to account for her being part of the general population to begin with.
"Look, I'm guessing you're infected and that is why you are trying to downplay this." Nope. closest I've ever come to an STD was the crabs, and there was no sex involved. Next. "If 20% of potential partners have an incurable STD, and you use a condom " And here's where the lying starts. You set up a hypothetical and go from there to create an entirely imaginary set of gloom and doom statistics, all of it a lie from your own imagination. Which of us is troll, again? Ah, yes. The one who points out your lies. Got it. I note you pull these numbers from your ass, rather than actually showing sources. So once again, you accuse me of being guilty of what you yourself have actually done.
@taleswapper Well, genital herpes are an incurable STD linked to cancer with HIGHER rates than the hypotheticals I used to illustrate the mathematical principals involved, but you are obviously determined to deny reality, so why bother continuing?
"but you are obviously determined to deny reality, so why bother continuing?" And once again, you stoop fallacy instead of supporting your position. I especially liked the bit about "linked to", as if THAT has any bearing. I can link the price of when to genital herpes, but that link isn't causative, or even indicative. And your feeble attempts to discredit me with your awesome powers of pseudo-deduction are pitiful. So instead of ad-homs, perhaps actual citations? No? Cat got your tongue?
@taleswapper So now you are saying that scientists are wrong, and genital herpes does not cause cancer? Seriously, we both know you are nowhere as dumb as you are pretending to be. What is your angle? To troll? Anyone can just do a simple google search and see everything you've said is a lie, so what is the point?
Straw man AND ad hom. you really suck at this whole discourse thing, don't you?
@taleswapper Coming from the guy who has provided nothing to support his claim that hookers are disease ridden other than to insult and deny without a single citation? Show the proof, man, show the proof! Also, you're misusing those terms. Insults are not ad homs, they are insults. Ad homs have to make the argument into one of character. Further, straw men knock down fake argument, they don't ask questions. Overall, I would like to retract my statement about you pretending to be dumb. I'm no far less convinced you are pretending. Seriously, you have 25 years on me. Quit being so disappointing.
I agree with your opinions but if it is legalised and well/fairly run both for the sex worker and clients, my opinions soften.
I will get kicked out of church for this but I have n o problem with legalized prostitution. The laws should require blood tests every 2 weeks, licensing and full medical histories that pose no danger to customers or the practitioner. Wavers must be assigned giving customer not responsibilities for children. Absolutely no criminal records above auto, or single misdemeanors. There are plenty of women and men who meet all these criteria. Old prostitutes espically with records would be out of business for the most part. I would even go for a minimum age of 21. There would be legal competition. The $10 blow job will never leave the business so their will be small illegal girls out there. Drug addicts would be out. Safe clean sex. It will save a fortune in the cost of flowers, getting arrested and embarrassment. Hell, it might even save a few marriages.
That's not a Christian mind set.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy Many would say that and I agree in some many ways. However, I really do feel that prostitution is so filed with disease, unsafe circumstances, hostages, underage children, pimps, drugs, and blackmail that my alternative is so much better. The goal would be to stamp out the whole activity and crime that goes with it. It is hard to reconcile this with christian beliefs which I respect. But I do believe it would be the best thing.
I dont think its good to do as a main source of income. I do support girls doing it out of free choice, whether its for fun or to get some extra cash. Besides, how else are the ugly dudes supposed to get laid
Interesting
Make them legal world wide.
And I see people disagreeing with me. OK. Here is the logic.
Humans are animals (science fact, if I have lost you here, then…don't bother), which reproduce sexually. Desire for reproduction MUST be strong, otherwise we would die out. So far so good? Good.
So if you have society somewhere, people would want to have sex. Free of charge way is not available for everyone (like me). And prostitution will emerge. It's just natural consequence.
„Many people believe it's wrong to promote it sense a sexual relationship should be something sacred shared between two emotionally intimate lovers.“ I couldn't agree more, I have it the same way. But the problem is in those people, who just cannot get their sexuality under control. Not in the prostitution. Getting rid of that will not erase the human desire.
The same thing with drugs.
If they want to make money like that then there’s no problem. It’s THEIR CHOICE and they’re aware of the risks.
They keep men's balls drained..
And are the sole reason men don't go to war..
Hence they are the real peacekeepers and a blessing in disguise
I totally support it!
In fact I practically already get it on with prostitutes and I written three mytakes in the past explaining why I choose prostitutes over real girlfriends and hookups. I just simply think they're better because they get straight to the point, they dont expect anything other than what they ask for, they perform better without remorse and they will always leave once the sex is done.

prostitution makes hella money, for girls especially.
but there are a lot of risks that come with it.
Agreed. But there's even more risk without it too.
@ThisAndThat yup.
I don't like them.
In countries where there is state funded and regulated prostitution, I have to think that prostitution would be a pretty good thing. Unfortunately, here in America, it is outlawed. Women have to resort to extremely unsafe practices in order to do business. Safety needs to come first.
heck if i could get fucked AND be payed, i wouldn't think a second about it xD so yeah i guess good for them.
It's a good thing. If it's legal hopefully it encourages more women to become prostitutes which means there would be less going to college.
And therefore more room for people like me and less competition for jobs.
My only fear is that the job I get may end up paying less than a prostitute.
I think there are better or other jobs out there for women who can't find jobs and for them prostitution is the only solution for their problems
Why in the world a woman wants to sell her body for $$? Some I heard saying something like "Because "she has bills to pay, feed their kids (if they have children) Well, so does everyone else anyway and you dont see them selling their bodies.
The problem is everyone else has a job. Making finding one harder, not including the skill needed for the job. And If they are making more money then minimum wage they would probably laugh at most available jobs anyway.
I am quite indifferent to this topic. But if you want to go to the roots of this problem , then the solution would be that all women in this world should stop using sex as a weapon for manipulation.
Ahh but guys like sex dont you?
This
I'm fine with women getting paid for something they enjoy doing. What I'm not fine with is when a woman is a prostitute when what she really needs is serious help.
I do not support them at all
Same as you
