  • In Batman, the 1966-1968 ABC TV series, it was rather campy and the unspoken joke was that Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson (Batman and Robin) were having a secret gay affair. After all, those Batman tights and Batman never getting turned on by Catwoman or other hot women on the show. And Dick Grayson was Bruce Wayne's "ward" and most people didn't know why Dick Grayson would be Bruce's Ward. Comic book fans might have known, but not mainstream Americans.

This unspoken suggested gay affair was parodied on Saturday Night Live with "The Ambiguously Gay Duo".

I don't think anyone is really going to care.

  • This is another one of those situations where I don't so much care about the subject matter as I do about the quality of storytelling. Frankly, I couldn't care less if Robin is bi. If he's bi, then he's bi; no skin off my butt. Why does it matter if Robin is bisexual though? What benefit does it serve the story? If Robin wasn't originally bisexual, how can they now justify making that change in the canon?

I'm inclined to see this as a bad thing, but only because I don't understand how this leads to a richer story.

  • Better that than coming out as a whinging Incel with a dick size complex

    • Na that would still be better than this BS. They ruined him.

    • True

  • I always figured that both Batman and Robin were gay anyway. Robin was Batman's little bitch.

  • You go Robin... have some fun!

  • Its neither, as it has no effect on the Batman series, as Robins sexuality has never played a role in the narrative.

  • Which robin? Dick Grayson, Tim drake? Jasón Todd? Damien Wayne?

    • Tim drake

  • People still read that dogshit?

  • First Superman denounces his US citizenship an now Robin comes out as Bi. The influence of liberals on the entertainment media is disgraceful.

  • What’s next? Big Bird is a cross dresser? You people and your fantasy worlds.

  • John Constantine, harley quinn, poison ivy, batwoman, king shark.
    Now tim drake too.
    That's fine.

  • That is fucking sick! Fuck up new characters if you want not classic ones.

  • Its lazy writing meant to cover up the fact that they can't think of an interesting story to tell.

  • Really? I always figured he was gay.

  • This is definitely a bad thing we know there are gay people in the world though don't have to force feed it to the world

  • Bad, at worst should just have been jokes like those Batman and Robin are secretly gay lovers jokes you can find online

  • He's not gay.

Gay writers want to make. him fucking gay.
