Hi all, While this might be a bit embarrassing please be kind but honest. I'm going to be a freshman in college in September in a dorm with a roommate who I have only texted with, but have not met. For those who have to share a dorm or any room with someone new how does one go about finding private time to masturbate. Like all guys my age I need relief often. I have always had my own room while in high school so this will be new to me. Please do not laugh. Any hints or suggestions on how you dealt with this? Thanks much!

Well when I was in college, my dorm had a communal kitchen, a communal living room, a communal dining room, a communal laundry room and 6 private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.

So if you’re going to a college like the one I went to then you should have your own private bedroom and bathroom.

But bare in mind, the majority of college dorms are co-eds. I was living with 2 other girls and 3 boys and sometimes saw someone running to the laundry room naked because they’ve left their clothes in the washing machine. So be prepared for seeing things like that. Also, this shouldn’t happen to you but it happened to me so I’ll warn you just in case. Sometimes ones of the boys who lived in my dorm who was on the football team would come into my room and try it on with me. I did eventually begin to fancy him too so after like 12 failed attempts, I let him in and we began having sex a lot, and I mean a lot. So be wary if you have any girls in your dorm, they may try it on with you.

Hey, 20F girl in college here, and I’m going to be real with you. There’s almost no way you’re going to get that time without risking being seen. Your bathroom will either be shared with your roommate and the people in the room next to yours, or it will be communal (public). I found for me that that struggle wasn’t as present in college. When you’re making friends and doing schoolwork and living your life well, you don’t feel the need to fill a void with masturbation. College gave me the chance to break away from those fleshly desires and focus on the good and healthy things in life. Consider taking a break from masturbation and seeing if you can find fulfillment in better things.

When you're in bed, that's the time to masturbate. Do it under the covers. The trick is to make sure you have a heavy bedspread, and the color should be dark, so no one can see your hand movements. At least then you'll be able to masturbate as soon as you go to bed, and once in the morning. And you might even get away with it if you pretend to take a nap during the day. I did this and never got caught, though I had a cool roommate, and even though he never caught me, he probably knew. When I first got to college, I had the exact problem you describe. In high school, I had been accustomed to doing it first thing when I woke up.

At college, my roommate and I got up at the same time and had breakfast together. So, that busted my routine until it dawned in me that I could enjoy myself while he was at class. I know... Duh.

The next year, I had a room that was very dark at night. I learned to be very quiet and did it under the covers.

I dealt with this in boarding school for high school and at college and in the Navy.

Shower is always good. If not in the dorm, then the gym.

But also, when your roommate is out. Remember, they'll be wanting the same space. And, you're going to have to figure out if there's a time one of you wants to have sex.

If those fail, play with yourself under your blanket and cum that way.

Hi Alex- I bet you and I are not the only ones that thought about this. I was in college many years ago but it was a real thing and I can remember it. After a while you will know exactly when your roommate has class. There will be times when he has class and you do not. You can use that time as an opportunity to take care of business.

Two guys it's not really that big of a deal if you just do it when you do it. Part of the bro code. He won't care if you do it and you probably won't care if he does it. By Thanksgiving you'll both have girlfriends staying over in the room and all those activities, not really out in the open but you will hear things. If you're still uncomfortable do it in the shower or when he's in class.

In this case, having fun will not be as easy as it used to be. My advice to you is to do it quietly at night, come to the room before your friend and you make, do it after your friend goes to school (you may go to school a little late, but this time you should have enough time to take a bath).
