My girlfriend and I have sex when she is having her period, but - rather obviously - a lot depends on how she is feeling. This noting that she is typically most "in the mood" when she is ovulating, and not so much during her period.

In fact, we even joke that we know where she is in "the cycle" not by her period, but by when her sex drive goes off the charts. If I come home and the kids are in bed at 6 in the evening and she greets me at the door naked, I know where she is in her "cycle." (Yes, that was a joke.)

My girlfriend and I have a great sex life. Very raw, not in a BDSM sort of way, but in a very natural and primal and frankly, if she is having her period, at least in my mind, that is just part of that sort of naturalness.

We are succumbing to our animal instincts and her period is just part of what comes with that. Truthfully, if I want sex, I want sex. Whether my girlfriend is having her period or not really makes little difference. It is not a "turn-on," but it is not a "turn-off" either.
