It is a guys choice. If they are married or have a girlfriend then perhaps both of them should make that decision. I'm sure you see a lot of guys in any porn you watch have shaved but not all guys do it. Most of my past girlfriends said they like guys who trim things but not shave it bald for what it is worth. not sure about the waxing, but i do trim it down below and keep it tidy. its part of self grooming and hygiene.

also this can help prevent certain issues that can be common in these places like in-growing hairs etc that can lead to painful boils and such like
