  • Sorry, I'm fine with girls loving girls, and boys loving boys, and whatever in between, but I have an issue with gender diaspora. You're born in a male body or in a female body. Most sane people are OK with that, we can whine about the hard times of monthly periods, or the inconvenience of a penis that gets hard the wrong moments, but in the end most people are feeling fine with their assigned gender at birth.

Re-assignment surgery is cosmetic. There is no working set of ovaries for M2F transition, or a penis with living semen for a F2M transition. It's a cosmetic and superficial thing. I don't think it's normal.

  • Just like any cosmetic surgery you always have to pay for yourself When it’s not life-threatening

  • I am not against trans people
But I have my doubts about insurance covering it.
It should be a carefully planned decision 😅
Like they should be medically diagnosed, been in therapy for more than a year...
    Before making decision.

  • No private agency will offer insurance for that since its a one time thing that is pretty quickly decided and not something that could happen during a lifetime. And governmentally there are way more important things that need coverage first. In the US that is: just about everything else.

    • The government can require that private health insurance cover certain things. For instance, mine covers pregnancy expenses even though I will never get pregnant.

    • Well pregnancy leave for guys is a thing isn't it? At least in Europe it is. It's called something like "Daddy Vacation". And that is a reasonable thing to cover insurance for as some people may never need it but still pay and everyone understands that that may be needed. However gender reassignment surgery is so very niche that the few who want it would pay for it anyways and the other ones would definitely make a fuss about having to pay for such nonsense. One reporter would only need to find out. So no it will probably never be coverable.

    • Parental leave and coverage of medical expenses are two different things.

  • No, it should be treated the same as cosmetic surgery.

  • There are many reasons people should be counselled not to have it unless it's vital to their health, but cost shouldn't be a reason not to get it if it is.

    • So you feel it should be mandatory in health insurance? Coverage I mean, not the surgery...

    • Yes, I think so. It's not something anyone would have done on a whim, and it's not simply cosmetic surgery.

  • U don't news I be a women/Man it's a cosmetic surgery like boobs or ass

    • No it shouldn't becoming a man/women is a cosmetic surgery like an ass job or nose job or boob enhancements. It's not life or death

  • No. (Filler)

  • They should band that shit,
