I think it is best to be understanding like you have in this case and not blame him for it. It is super common and most sexually active people will get it within their lifetime if not vaccinated. Nothing to be ashamed of, but you are also allowed to feel sad about it even if you have no blame for him, so don't feel like you need to hide that. I think if I was in this position I would be upset about the potential health risks, but I couldn't be mad or blame the guy I don't think, unless he did know and didn't make it known.

Almost all sexually active AmericansTrusted Source will have HPV at some point in their lives. And anyone who is sexually active is at risk for contracting the virus or spreading it to a partner.
Talking with your partner may cause more anxiety and concern than the diagnosis itself.
Don’t feel tempted to apologize for your diagnosis. HPV is very common, and if you’re sexually active, it’s one of the risks you face. It doesn’t mean that you or your partner (or previous partners) did anything wrong.
Partners tend to share strains of the virus between them, which means it’s almost impossible to know where the infection started. Many myths are associated with it but I would say just don't be upset. I can understand your concern how it feels but I am sure you would be happy soon.0 0 0 0you have every right to be upset but at the same time you can't blame him because like most men he will have been totally oblivious to the fact he was carrying it... this is why the hpv vaccine given to girls in high school here in the uk is now offered to boys too even though it doesn't affect men at all in most cases. its the fact it leads to a higher risk of cervical cancer in women and at the end of the day, he wasn't to know and you obviously both consented to sex without a condom. your question does at least raise the issue though so i hope more young guys read it and learn from it too but like i said its not something they have traditionally been told about

Yes, I'd be upset, but there's really no way he could have know. Plus, HPV infections are incredibly common. This CDC article says almost every sexually active person will get it at some point in their life, unless they were vaccinated. Unfortunately, the HPV vaccine is relatively new, so people in your age group probably didn't get it. The good news is, in most people, your body clears the HPV infection on its own. Either way, make sure you get regular check-ups, etc.

5 10If it was unknowingly, then no. It's one of the risks you take when you swap bodily fluids with others. You both should have been aware that the possibility that a whole host of transmittable illnesses could result from sex. You should be more upset with yourself for allowing it to happen.
0 0 1 0Guys can be tested for HPV... they just can’t have symptoms or suffer from it because they don’t have cervixs. The genetic material of the virus will still show up in a test
0 0 0 0Hard to blame him if he didn't know.
0 0 0 0Y e s :/
0 0 0 0But why he didn’t know and had no way of knowing he had it?
I'd be sorry if it were me Of course it's not his fault
Oh okay that makes sense! (Also he was sorry guess I should have included that)
What is HPV?
0 0 1 0Human Papillomavirus. There are a bunch of different types, some sexually transmitted, some not. They can sometimes cause warts, and some strains can sometimes cause cervical cancer. But most often they are asymptomatic.
@Mars24 eww
🤦 I guess I should have figured if you actually cared to know, you would have just googled it.
I think there is a test now. Since he didn't know he had it and couldn't prevent himself from giving it to you I understand that m. If a girl gave me a STD she couldn't test for I wouldn't be too mad at her. I'd probably die, but I can do that from a small cut.
0 0 0 0If a girl has HPV and a man goes down on her pussy, she can pass that across his tongue and wind up getting throat cancer. There’s no cure for that! That’s a death sentence.
0 0 1 0No I wouldn't be mad. Almost everybody who's sexually active has it, they just don't know they have it yet. It's very common.
0 0 0 0Nope you should be happy. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
