in my opinion, take that additional 25% you're bringing in, and you keep 15% and give him 10%. I think that's reasonable given what you've posted, and it will keep him happy while still letting you keep most of the money.

And don't try to short him! Show him your pay stubs and tell him how much he gets. Possibly have him sign a 1099 if it gets over $500 per year for tax purposes. Make it a real business deal.
