  • Not sure if you mean public schools or higher education but public schools are so strapped for cash anyways and its their job to educate not to give out free birth control.

Public schools in the last several decades have gone from trying to just educate to so much more and guess what? the funding has stayed pretty consistent... that means less money for actual education costs. Around here they now feed kids breakfast and lunch, cause the parents wouldn't feed them breakfast before school started.

All those expenses do is drop what is available for other things, like text books, teachers, staff, supplies, etc...

There is a reason teachers are not paid enough, cause there isn't enough money to spend... so imagine being a under paid teacher and finding out they are spending millions on this stuff... when they could be giving you a raise instead.

It would be better for a non tax payer funded organization to hand them out free, many tax payers do not like the idea of their tax money being used this way and would cause a great deal of outrage.

  • Yes! Promotes safe sex. Mind did give out condoms at the infirmary (bc is kind of expensive and you need a prescription).

  • Yes, they at least should make condoms, easily and discreetly available somewhere.

Hook ups are going to happen in today's sexual atmosphere...

Now BC pills are a different subject. I would think that not all girls could use the same type of BC pill. I don't know, but I would think there are different types depending on medical conditions.

  • Free text books. School funds should not be used in such a way.

  • schools should not get involved in these kinds of things.

  • What schools? Your high school? Uh, no. Kidletts are not ready for fucking.
In any case, BC should not be paid for by tax-payers. Same for feminine hygiene products.

  • I don't think that's the school's responsibility...

    • Agreed! Plus, kids are irresponsible. If a boy has a chance to have sex he won't pass it up because he doesn't have a condom in his pocket.

  • Condoms yes, but nor birth control pills, and it's because some women experience really bad side effects when they take them. Not every woman is suitable for the same kind of pills

  • no. pareents should do that. schools are not parents. there's gotta be "some" scocialization duty that is still with the parents. or else you could just take children away from their parents the second they are born and have them raised by the government.

    • Like parents would lol

    • yeah well. shit happens. i find it highly problematic to shove all the responsibilities to schools. we're on the way of socializing tools instead of thinking members of a civil society. schools don't educate you to think properly. they educate you to be usefull for the economy.

  • Have a class in self-pleasure instead without having sex you can only masturbate. And you can either pleasure yourself or switch where you can pair up boy with girl boy with boy-girl with a girl. A new sex-ed class. 💞

  • No it's not schools responsibility and sends entirely the wrong message

  • That is a parent's privilege.

  • Indeed they should. If you're going to have sex education then why not provide rubbers and birth control?

  • High schools, yes to condoms with counseling required, no to any other birth control. Middle schools, no. Parents, do your job.

  • Nope because they should teach kids about staying virgins till marriage!

    • Abstinence education doesn’t work at all and there’s evidence that it may be contributing to teen pregnancy actually

“ abstinence-only education as a state policy is ineffective in preventing teenage pregnancy and may actually be contributing to the high teenage pregnancy rates in the U. S. ”

    • @Still-alive because everything should start at home, school ain't enough

    • But often it doesn't so i guess the kids who got those parents are just SOL huh?

    • Show All
  • Yeah. In high school... kids are gonna do it so they should protect themselves.

  • Nope

  • I would like them to teach firearm safety

  • That be encouraging sex. I can understand sex education but not basically inplying for students to have sex. School is a place for learning and growing, not fulfulling all of your wants

  • Kids are going to have sex either way
