They are not the same thing. Removing the clit would be more like removing the end of the penis itself and not the skin around it. A closer equivalency would be to remove the hood surrounding the clit.

Muslims do as well. Up through Abraham, Muslim and Jewish faiths follow the same path. The split comes from the two offspring of Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael. The story of Circumcision occurs before the split so they both follow that command. Christians are released from that command in the New Testament. One of the disciples chastises other disciples that have been forcing it upon new recruits by stating if you follow part of the law you must follow all of the law. The idea being that if you circumcise as a religious action you need to follow all the rules of the Jewish faith. Christ released the followers from the laws of the Jewish faith instead relying mainly on Love God before all others and love others as you do yourself. Something not practices by many who would claim to be Christian. It used to be more common in Europe but fell out of favor with nationalized health care and deciding it was unnecessary and therefore not covered. It gained some popularity in Korea after the Korean war due to American soldiers mostly being cut. In the United States it has become less common on the West Coast. The percentages in California are lower due to a large Hispanic population and it has just dropped in general in Washington and Oregon.

very nice, thank you for the detailed comment. As a European I can confirm that we look at it as a health question, and we find it unnecessary and cruel, most of us think this js something that should be dealt according to human rights.

I'm not upset that I was but I'm not in favor of it. The one benefit is the foreskin can be used to make huge amounts of skin that can be used for burn victims. But I don't think that is a reason to keep doing it. Just a benefit of the practice. If I had a son I wouldn't push for it getting done.
