Most US carriers have had email to SMS gateways for a while, so it’s not too uncommon. I used to get reminders from my doc from an email.
If the link is for a generic sign up page, I wouldn’t think of it alone as a red flag. It’s just random spam sent cheaply. If there were other things also going on, I might wonder.
I completely get that it’s more than likely spam. I just don’t understand, how they got his number? My ex was an asshole. He was a major cheater and on dating apps all the time and would receive texts like this because he had put his number on other sites. That’s the only thing that scares me
Most wireless numbers have the same exchange (first three digits) so they will blanket an entire block of numbers with spam. 555-0001...9999. 70-80% of those numbers will be with a given carrie that the exchange was initially assigned to. Number portability messes it up some, but it’s minor.
There’s a chance he could be insecure being married now and need validation, but this just seems like random spam to me. You could just ask him.
It’s SPAM, don’t worry about it. I get them too, my girlfriend gets them too, we delete them straight away as many have viruses, careful with answering, you might kick of a monthly subscription thingy that’s hard to cancel. Most SPAM sending tools send messages simply to all numbers randomly.
Not saying he’s not on dating sites, but this one-off message is for sure _not_ a confirmation of that.
i get crap like that a lot... i think its from porn sites... its hard to say... unless he starts writing to them.. i wouldn't overly worry
If you entered your number on any site like that, EVER, you're pretty much fucked until you change your number. You might find a way to block it but they have already forwarded your number to hundreds/thousands of different bots to randomly text you certain intervals.
Also that site you are showing doesn't have any girls on it, just bots.
