Part One
Jenna’s keys jingled as she unlocked the door to her apartment and stepped inside, dropping her bags to the floor before leaning back on the door slamming it shut. The smell of warm damp soil and living green things greeted her, it smelled like home. Sighing heavily, she kicked off her pants leaving them on the floor then grabbed her purse and bag of groceries off the floor and walked through the spacious flat to the open concept kitchen which lay on the far side of the apartment. The living room was large. Dark hard wood floors littered with mismatching carpets and mismatched furniture giving the space an almost bohemian feel. Several guitars and a few other stringed instruments lined the far wall, placed like trophies, but the thing that stood out most about the place was that the entire apartment was cluttered with plants. A Monstera climbing the wall in one corner, viney Pathos framing the windows, String of Pearls hanging like a living curtain, and dozens of other species taking up every bit of space on window seals and soaking up the golden light of dusk. The whole place felt like a jungle and slightly humid, not surprisingly considering it was late August. Jenna kicked off her shoes and began to unload her groceries.
“Google, play Frank Sinatra.” The smart speaker burst to life with a familiar rich melody. Come Fly With Me filled the space as she finished packing the last of the groceries into the Fridge but before shutting the door she hesitated and pulled out a bottle of wine, then kicked the door shut. It had been a long week; work had been taxing and all Jenna wanted to think about was the surprise her boyfriend had planned for her. Alex and Jenna had been dating for about two years now, both always busy with work but somehow always managing to make time for each other. Jenna smiled thinking about him as she popped the cork out of the bottle and poured the deep red liquid into her glass. Her and Alex couldn’t be more different, he loved to cook, and music was his life, while instead she had an artist's disposition and was constantly moving from one interest to another, except for Alex. He’d been one of the few constants in her life. From completely different backgrounds, and originally opposite ends of the country, they ended up somehow being in the right place at the right time. Jenna tried to push the stress of the week to the back of her mind as she sipped her wine and filled a large watering can, letting her mind wander. The art gallery she worked at downtown was planning a huge fundraiser event at the end of the month and her job was to coordinate the vendors. Unfortunately, the bartender that she had originally hired canceled this morning, barely two weeks before the open gallery and she had spent all day making calls and trying to cash in favors to try and find one to no avail. Now that it was Friday evening, and the work week was over she had no other choice but to try and push it from her mind and enjoy a relaxing weekend. She hummed along to Frank and Dean as she watered her plants, losing herself in the methodical task.
After finishing the chore, Jenna poured herself another glass of wine and made her way to the bathroom where she started drawing herself a bath, mixing sweet smelling bath salts and lavender bubble bath before sinking neck deep down into the warm water. Already a little tipsy on an empty stomach she reveled in the sensation of the warm water and sweet-smelling suds, hands gliding over her body, enjoying how slick her skin felt.
Jenna didn’t notice the man watching her through the window of her apartment as she walked through her house half naked, glass of wine in one hand, watering can in the other. He didn’t mind in the least watching her sway through the house in just underwear and a tank top. He watched shamelessly, taking in every detail of her. Her shoulder length wavy brown hair streaked with gold, hazel eyes and full pouty lips. She had long shapely legs, a feminine figure and large full breasts which her black tank top cling to and he couldn't take his eyes off her. He bit back a curse as she disappeared from view. Silently he made his way to the front door, concealed in shadows and tried the knob on the door, it was unlocked.
“Foolish girl,” he thought to himself. “It’s almost like she wants someone to just walk right in.” Quickly and silently the man stepped in and softly closed the door behind him and clicked the lock. Listening he could hear water running in the bathroom and he grinned to himself leaning down to pick up her discarded pants and lifting them to his nose. They smelled of detergent and her… a scent that aroused him nearly as much as the sight of her did. Quietly he made his way down the hall and could hear water running and picked up on the scent of lavender. The bathroom door was slightly ajar, and he peeked through the doorway. Jenna’s head was blocked by the curtain, but he could see her, her knees peeking out from beneath the suds, her breasts glistening wet and one of her fingers slowly circling one of her nipples. The crotch of his jeans grew uncomfortably tight at the sight. He held his breath as he slowly pushed the door open a little more, noticing that her other hand was between her legs and her chest was rising and falling faster than it should be if she were just relaxing in the tub. He had to restrain the urge to unzip his pants.
Jenna’s eyes were closed as she let her hands glide over skin slowly and softly. The warmth of the water slick against her skin. She pictured Alex, tall and handsome, hair tousled, imagining the feel of his calloused fingertips against her skin. She gasped softly as the thought sent a tingle of pleasure to her core.
