The transition from a girl to a woman.

Changes that may occur during puberty

when we are infants to our old age, our body goes through a sea of changes. Puberty hits us all, but hits us all differently. Usually, both men and women are subject to bodily changes between the ages of 9 to 13. But in some kids, it may start early. it comes to girls though, there are many milestones that mark the changes that occur in their lives. Puberty itself brings about a transformation that not only affects their physical appearances, but also impacts their social status.

Menstruation marks the beginning of a girl's transition to womanhood.

It is believed that when a girl gets her period, she transforms into a woman. In many cultures, it holds great significance and is also celebrated through rites and rituals. But biologically, during menstruation, the female body experiences a lot of changes in their bodies. It is when they become fertile, their breasts become tender and fuller and much of their physical appearance also changes

Body hair becomes common

Puberty brings about many changes to a female body. As mentioned above it includes many physical changes. When a girl hits puberty, several shifts occur in the hormonal patterns. This leads to hair growth in different parts of the body like underarms, on your legs, and around your pubic area. Initially, it is light and almost unnoticeable, but over time it grows dark and thick. While it is normal, you can always resort to measures to remove it. Do not do it on your own, especially if you have never done it before. Seek help and assistance for the same.

Changes in physical appearances is unavoidable

As you hit puberty, you will be subject to physical growth. Your height may increase 4 inches a year and such rapid growth is known as 'growth spurt'. Majority of the girls reach their maximum height by age 18. However, the growth rate may differ from person to person.Additionally, other physical changes may involve bigger and tender breasts, formation of new curves on your body and many more. You may also notice changes in your facial appearance

Skin acnes and pimples may add to your woes.

Puberty can also result in acne breakouts and skin complications in girls. It may occur on your face, neck and back and can sometimes be painful. Stress, menstruation, changes in hormones can all contribute to your skin problems. Besides, using a lot of makeup and failing to cleanse your skin can make matters worse. However, you'll notice that skin issues diminishes over time.

Puberty leads to vaginal discharge and discomfort in young girls

During puberty, the female body may have to experience another set of problems associated with the vagina. You may either notice a vaginal discharge and experience discomfort, if you do not clean up. While vaginal fluids are normal and help keep your vagina in order, bad odour, itchiness and discomfort may signify an infection. Do not hesitate to speak to your parents and visit a doctor for the same.

There is more consciousness towards one's body

Since changes to your physical appearance are imminent, there's a high chance you'll be more conscious about your body than you were earlier. Often aging girls develop more fat in their bodies than boys. However, these transform into curves over time or even may lead to obesity if not taken care of in time. The many changes to the body often makes girls more conscious about their changing bodies. Adding to their woes are the societal expectations, which sometimes limits how they carry themselves in public.
