Trimmed Pubic hair for the first time in my life today, what to expect afterwards in terms of ichthess etc?

So I just turned 18 in May and today i felt an urge to trim my pubic hair as I always had it super bushy (never trimmed it before today) and I myself kind of wanted a change+ i doubt many girls will like it bushy either (I’m virgin if that means anything) so I trimmed it like 3 quarters down. Now I just can’t get used to the shortness of it and it gets a bit itchy here and there. Got any advice on what to do here just so it dosent bother me in school etc. I think I also may try shaving it completely but that’ll be once I’m out of school as it gets super itchy then is what I was told.

  • I would advice on wearing not too thin of an underwear as your hair may poke through and that will make it more itchy (wear cotton). Also put some coconut oil over where you trimmed (don't worry coconut oil is safe there). And try to shave! It will also feel weird, my friends and I say that it feels like the skin of a chicken with no hair lol but after like 6 month to a year of shaving just once a month and applying coconut oil on there when I hit out of the shower I know feel more comfortable shaved than hairy which wasn't always the case before because of the itchiness. Hope my exoerience helps!

    • Sure it dose! Thank you! I actually just finished shaving the remainder of what was left because of what you discribed plus I myself couldn’t get over how weird it looked to me. So forsure I’ll try the coconut oil! Just gotta find it. Don’t really wanna tell my parents why I’m using it cause it’ll be kind of embarrassing. May I ask how long have you been shaving for? Did you always shave since you started puberty or did that start later on like me? Also, just curious is it weird to you at all for a guy to be actually shaving there completely? I know I doubt a girl would want it bushy but it’s actually pretty rare I think for a guy to shave completely.

    • I used to just trim as well until I turned 17 I believe, I didn't really like the result so I just left it to grow and went back to just trimming for about 3 months but then I just started to shave regularly and that still to this day so for about 2 or 3 years now. Nah it's not weird for a guy, getting rid of the hair down there is like actually healthy so a guy that trims or shaves there is a good thing!

    • Ok. How many times a day should I apply the coconut oil? I already applied it twice today (in the morning and after school). At 2 other separate times I applied another special after shave skin to smoothen out the skin etc because i didn’t have the oil on me so that’ll make 4 times today that I applied something. Is that too much? It’s been 48hrs since I shaved it completely and especially now it’s super tender, red bumps everywhere and pretty itchy. I have been trying not to scratch too because I feel that’ll make it worse by giving me a rash. So just wanted to see how many times i should be applying.

  • It does get super itchy a few days after shaving, and that's a pain in the *** for me. I prefer trimming.

  • Shave it completely or let them grow more. If its short its itchy.
