True or False: Females can't rape?

False. I believe females can rape but some people don't so I just wanted to do a poll on this.

  • Absolute nonsense- unless you're talking in the legal sense. In many places, laws are structured specifically to disallow female-perpetrated rape. Even in the United States (in every state where I've checked, at least), laws are structured such that a female rapist (the laws are specifically against sexual assault or sexual battery; the word "rape" doesn't appear in most of them) faces a lower MAXIMUM sentence than a male rapist would face as a MINIMUM.

    Now, I'm all in favor of nuance in laws that reflect nuanced realities; statutory "you consented, but you're not old enough or otherwise forbidden from doing so" is hardly the same thing as "leaping out of the darkness and forcing yourself on somebody"- both warrant punishment, but let's not pretend there's no precedent for degrees of a crime- but that's ridiculous. "But women are smaller and weaker than men!" And even if bodybuilders and steroid abusers didn't exist, guns, knives, and drugs (including alcohol!) DO.

    Besides- female rapists aren't limited to targeting MEN. The vast majority of rapists, being straight, target the opposite sex exclusively, but how would you feel if you were a woman and got raped by another woman?

    Ultimately, this is just one more issue on which the law should be gender neutral- but isn't.

  • It's rare for a woman to commit forcible rape against a man unless she's using a gun or something. But the definition of rape has been expanded extensively in recent years to include scenarios like statutory rape, drunk rape and manipulative rape. I have been the victim of both the first and second in that list at the hands of women. The first was a 30-something married neighbor who seduced me when I was 15 while her husband was away during the day. That happened 5 or 6 times. The other was a situation where I was passed out drunk and woke up enough to find my pants had been partially pulled down and there was one girl playing with my junk and another taking pictures with her phone. That one bothered me most but both have been traumatic. Female on male sexual abuse, assault and manipulation are far more common than most people recognize because they are rarely reported, and typically not taken seriously when they are. I've never told anyone about being raped and assaulted (except on the internet) because I know what that would lead to and I don't want to deal with any of it. I'll just say that if I find out an older woman had sex with my teenage son I would fucking kill her.

  • Technically and legally I suppose so, but when has a man ever not welcomed sex. This guy has not.

    To add to that I was probably raped by a female babysitter when I was a child before I even knew about sex. She did things with me and I penetrated her at her direction. This did not tramatize me and I've never mentioned it to anyone before. Thinking back, I actually enjoyed it all.

    • I've taken my share of beatings over the years, and they can actually be very beneficial if they're administered properly. Obviously, we should have the choice of whether we wish for receive them or not.

  • Of course they can. It's just not a straightforward process like it is for men. And men generally aren't shamed for having sex so don't usually have that particular concern. How people will be viewed by society for being raped is a major factor in the damage that rape does. For women it can be devastating as they are viewed as damaged goods. But men don't really get viewed as damaged for having any kind of sex.

    The memory of being physically controlled is the other main source of damage, though. And that's a pretty big deal for both men and women. Indeed, it could be argued that it affects men more than women, since men aren't used to feeling that way all the time - which is a whole other pair of problems beyond the scope here..

  • They definitely can. However, I do think female-on-male rape isn't as straightforward as the other types, since men tend to look at sex very differently than women. You're going to find a lot of men who do and do not respond to this harshly.

    Despite that, I think it's possibly the most isolating type of rape based trauma up there other than female-on-female. You are not find many can relate or take you seriously for either even in the community.

  • Totally FALSE!!! If a woman sexually assaults a man or young boy without their permission, that is rape, and the woman can (and should) be prosecuted for it. It's even possible for a woman to rape another woman, if the other woman does not give consent to the sex.

  • False, a news channel showed two 8th grade girls hold down a sixth grade boy. He tried 2 get away n 1 pulled off his swim shorts. I think the othr rubbed his penis. A third recorded it.

    This makes me believe two othr cases. A 3rd grade boy in the library was given oral by a girl. He tried 2 stop her. His mom told the news. A lady who was locked up in a mental institution broke into her ex's home. She used a machete n forced him 2 hav sex. I could go on.
