you can get STDs but if he got tested and didn't have sex with anyone else then STDs should be no problem (but you know, there is always that tiny risk left).
he can catch an infection because there is a lot of bacteria. it's not that high, we've done it for years without any problems but if you wanna go sure use condoms.
if you switched between anal and vaginal without cleaning then there is a risk for you to catch infections too. with condoms you should switch them when you go back from anal to vaginal. so if you wanna safe, use condoms next time and if you haven't done it yet then is this a good time to get you both STD tested0 0 0 0Yes, you have to worry about STDs. Protection is as much need for anal that it's needed for regular. It's not because you can't get pregnant that you can't catch a disease.
0 0 0 0Unless semen got into your vagina you wouldn't get pregnant

It's always a risk. As long as you didn't have vaginal sex after, and you're both free of std's then you should be ok. Spur of the moment happens but it's good to clean out every now and then. What were your thoughts?
0 0 0 0It didn't hurt as much as I expected. But I have tattoos and piercings and my tolerance for pain is different than a lot of people. And there was no vaginal sex afterwards, nor any bleeding (I read bleeding is a bad sign). I hadn't thought about anal before and I weren't going to look it up in the heat of the moment of normal sex. Otherwise protection etc would have been used.
Well its good to experiment. If you want to make it a regular thing get a douche. But you should be good.
It sounds like a good time was had by all. If you want some ideas on how to make it better...

0 0 0 0Well that is something you should be concerned about. But if your in a relationship, why not just get and STD test? then you don't need to worry about it anymore (provided you and he do not cheat). then you only need to be concerned about getting pregnant.
0 0 0 0There is a higher risk of STI transmission compared to vaginal sex, and also some of infection. I seriously doubt you're in any trouble, but you should educate yourself on how to have anal safely.
0 0 0 0YOU could get an STD only if he has one. But if he has an STD, risks are higher.
HE can get an UTI even if you're 100% healthy:
