The article mentioned that she was charged with incest as part of the plea deal. To me, this makes it even more disturbing. The victim’s mother is obviously outraged at the double standard.
Besides it being morally and legally wrong to have sex with a minor regardless of sex, I find it concerning that some have commented that sex wouldn’t have been possible if he wasn’t interested. This makes me think of things like “well, what were you wearing when you were raped. You were asking for it.” And even if it was consensual, a 31 year old has no business doing this with a minor and they must have some serious mental issues
Definitely a double standard and ridiculous that she was not charged for anything. Would be terrible if she wasn’t even placed on a sex offender registry, because I would NOT feel comfortable being her neighbor if I had children.

My opinion is a question. How can a female "rape" a male, and yet make him hard and ejaculate? Isn't it "statutory? Wasn't the boy seduced or coerced in some way? And have another question in four parts.
*How does the baby benefit from her incarceration? Should the court take it away?
*How does the boy/daddy benefit? I doubt he has any trauma and you can't rape the willing. He probably loves the woman.
*How does the woman benefit? She is unlikely to feel any guilt that must be assuaged. Does she really deserve to be punished?
*How does society benefit? Revenge against a lonely, horny Latina woman? Will we all feel better about ourselves, then?

Woman can rape man by a forced penetration for example. Erection does not always mean that the man is willing to have sex. (Note that even some women experience orgasm from rape and it does NOT mean that they enjoyed it and were willing.) For instance, the prosecutors dropped the charges down to a single charge of incest. How is it incest? And why would the charges be dropped to that? She will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. And she faces 10 years to life on sex offender intensive supervision probation.

No this is wrong, something is messed up there in Colorado. Gender shouldn't be a consideration for the crime, it shouldn't be part of the trial or sentencing. Should be treated based strictly on age and the other factors.

No. The 13 year old boy should have got jail time. Everyone knows if a woman regrets sex, its the mans fault because he raped her, not the other way around. There’s no doubt that women are sometimes treated more leniently by the criminal justice system. In this case, there’s a baby to consider and I’m sure that factored into the judge’s decision. Also, even if it’s unfair, I think there’s a perception that boys are less traumatized by statutory rape situations than girls are. But I don’t disagree, a man would probably have done jail time.
It’s way worse for a man to rape a girl.
