I find that it doesn't hurt to shave the actual main event (inner lips) constantly but the front part (pubic bone area) can get irritated if I shave really short hair and irritated skin looks worse than stubble! I have brown hair down there that isn't very curly or thick like I could not grow a proper bush if I tried! My boyfriend doesn't mind though he has stubble downstairs too sometimes for the same reason, gotta wait until it's not super short so shaving doesn't hurt like a motherfucker! Plus since the area his mouth goes on is always easy for me to keep comfortably smooth he doesn't care about stubble in front. Also one time I shaped some in front like a tiny heart annd he said it looks adorable so I usually have that in the middle and just clean up the hairs around it.

I prefer trimmed to shaved because stubble kinda sucks, but trimmed hair is long enough not to prickle, and when you're taking your hands further and further down you know you're close when you can feel the pubic hair and that's kinda hot
