What are blue balls or heavy balls (may be a local weirdly Translated thing), how do they feel and are they real?

So there sometimes is talk about blue balls or in my language something that is best translated to heavy balls. This might be a new slang word or only locally used I don't know. Is this a real thing (not the balls getting blue)? If yes, how does it feel? Is it different to sexual denial or edging?

Bonus question about the heavy ball thing: When you didn't cum for a longer time is there a noticeable weight feeling from your balls? I mean it only produces the semen Not the main fluid that is cum, which is produced internally in the prostate so I guess it doesn't make a difference or is too small to be able to notice?

  • "Blue Balls" is a slang term, and an old one, and is intended to be more humorous than it is an accurate description of the condition. The word "blue" was a common slang term for "dirty" (in a sexual or obscene way) in the first half of the 20th century - early porn films were called "blue movies" and comedians who talked about sexual subjects were said to be "working blue."

What actually happens is this: when a man becomes sexually aroused, he typically gets an erection, but ALSO his prostate gland, which is what produces and stores semen, revs up from it's normal slow production of semen to "turbo charged" production of semen, in anticipation of a forthcoming ejaculation. It's not actually the guy's balls (testicles) that are sore - it's the prostate gland, which is located in the area where his balls attach to his body.

A few moments of arousal is almost never a problem, but if a man is kept in a strong state of arousal for an extended length of time (10+ minutes) - such as, for example, a long make-out session - this rapid production of semen over a bit of time will cause the prostate to be over-full, creating pressure that normally generates pain, but this pain will be masked by the endorphins he's experiencing from being at such a high state of sexual arousal - much as an athlete's endorphins will mask the pain when competing. But endorphins dissipate quickly once the arousal level drops, and when that happens, the prostate pain is suddenly there.

A swollen prostate will ache, but it will also make the prostate extremely tender and sensitive, and the smallest of bumps or bounces can feel like being kicked in the nuts on a normal day. A little bounce, or a bit of binding clothes, that normally go unnoticed, are suddenly agony. Also, the more the guy was aroused, and the longer he was kept in that state, the greater the ache will be. And the only relief is to ejaculate - to reduce the over-pressure in the prostate. The problem is that without the endorphins to mask the pain and tenderness, it's almost impossible to achieve a "manual override" - it's too painful for the guy to get started himself, and for most guys, it takes time to get the brain working in that way. It's FAR easier to get the endorphins working again if your partner is involved, and can help you relieve the pressure.

This is one reason why many men don't like extended make-out sessions that don't continue on to sex - it's not that the make-out itself isn't pleasurable, but rather, he knows what's likely to happen if it ends before he relieves that pressure that's been building up in his prostate, and that kind of ruins the whole thing. That's why many guys will tell you not to start anything you aren't willing to finish.

Yes, if left alone, the pressure will eventually dissipate on its own, but that can take anywhere between, oh, 10 minutes to several painful hours.

What is blue balls and how do you get rid of
The term “blue balls” is slang for epididymal hypertension, which is occurs when a female gets a male sexually aroused for an extended period of time but doesn't give an orgasm or ejaculation. It’s not dangerous but can be quite painful for the male. Blue balls or epididymal hypertension refer to scrotal pain or a feeling of heaviness after sustained sexual arousal without orgasm and ejaculation. The symptoms of blue balls include mild to severe pain, discomfort, aching, heaviness, and sometimes — as the name suggests — a faint bluish colour in your testes (also known as testicles).

    What causes blue balls?
“When things are getting hot and heavy, the body channels blood into the penis and testicles,” Dr Rhys Young says. “The veins that would normally carry that blood away from the area restrict so that the blood stays there to create an erection.”

After ejaculation or when they’re no longer aroused, blood flows out of their penis and it returns to a flaccid state.

“However, if you are put into the state of blue balls it may of gotten
to a point where masturbation is too painful to perform this can be solved by getting oral stimulation that doesn't bounce or jiggle the affected balls.

  • It’s a made thing guys say to try get girls to fuck them.

    • But EVEN if its real they could just masturbate.

    • Exactly

    • Totally real. I have had them a few times. One was horrible. I never used it as an excuse for sex. That's a dumb excuse.

  • So despite what some people seem to believe it is absolutely a real thing.

It would not significantly alter weight or colour.

You could view it as similar to edging, but edging would be the act and blue balls the result. That's not neccessarily the case though.

The best way I could explain it is to imagine yourself horny. Painfully so. But also in need of that feeling of fullness, warmth. Whatever else. Sure you could take matters into your own hands and it would help to an extent but you are still there craving all these other things. And perhaps even still in, honestly light but still real, physical pain from it.

So no. Not at all made up, any more than other concepts are, but of course something people might overuse as a more dramatic way of saying we want someone. It very much has its own unique meaning that every guy can relate to though.

    • Apparently not every guy. I asked my husband the same question and he has heard about it but never experienced it. So he couldn't explain it to me. Hornynes alone is never painful though. But if masturbating doesn't help it is a physical reaction to being alone?

  • it is not real

    • Of course it's real.

    • @Marked_Man hahah right, we can all get horny for prolonged time but none if is a reason to pressure a partner into sexual activity

    • @devilish-cutie of course not nobody has a right or excuse to pressure anyone. It's just a scientific fact that it's a real phenomenon.

  • Yeah, it’s not literally blue balls of course, but it’s painful. It’s relieved by ejaculating. I don’t feel heavier, I just painfully want to cum

  • It's a term for the condition a guy is in after repeated teasing and frustration. I've received blue balls on numerous occasions, and I'm always very grateful to the woman who administers a sufficient amount of teasing to cause me to have blue balls.

  • After reading your question I did some checking online and the medical/health sites I read said that the balls can increase in size up to about 50% during sexual arousal. This is because of increased blood flow to the genitals. So called "blue balls" is the painful sensation in the balls from being highly aroused for a long time without release. I've experienced that before. But when I edge myself when masturbating I never get the "blue balls" pain. Maybe I did when I was younger though and I just don't remember it. But you're right that the increased size of the balls isn't due to the buildup of semen inside them. That's because as you mentioned the liquid semen is produced by glands inside the body (including the prostate). The only contribution the balls make to the ejaculate is the tiny sperm cells themselves.
I do remember when I was younger and did get blue balls that the discomfort was enough that even masturbating was painful because stroking my penis would cause my balls to move. But the increase in blood flow eventually goes down and the discomfort eventually goes away.

  • If a guy hasn't ejaculated in a long time, his testicles (balls) are full and can be kind of painful. Blue balls is an intense feeling of a need to ejaculate.

Sometimes, I guy will (crudely) try to convince a girl to have sex with him by claiming he has blue balls and she can help hime relieve them.

  • I mever experienced blue balls or "dicke Eier" 😂 and i once did not cum for a year, but with daily edging. But even that did nothing to my balls. Not turning blue, not getting more heavy, not hurting.

To me, the term just means the psychological effect of being really horny amd frustrated.

I think that in 99.99% men just use it to make a woman feel guilty, like "if you dont make me cum, you are causing me pain!". Its just their ego.

  • Blue Balls is what a guy gets when he's ready to fuck a girl and then, for whatever reason, they don't fuck. His nuts begin to hurt a lot, almost as if someone hit them. It might last a number of minutes but, it DOES eventually go away! I have yet to find out if actually fucking someone while you've got blue balls will make the pain go away. I COULD be the same feeling as your cramps.

    • But its different from just getting hard and then not doing anything. Edging doesn't hurt neither so when is the middleground when it does start?

    • If you're having Tantric sex, you're STILL having sex!! Basically, in Tantric, all you do is stop yourself from cumming. It's not the same as someone telling you they're gonna fuck you and you get all excited and ready to go and then they don't fuck you.

  • In my language if u says the words that translate to heavy balls means having ego or showing ego

And no when i have not cummed in some days it not that balls become heavy or big... but they do get stuck where they are and be less like hanging... just like these days cuz I've not 💦 in a while

  • Kind of real. If a guy hasn't cum for a while, his balls can get very sore! But it's not like they fill up to the point of bursting 😂

  • It's a real medical condition. I get it often from extreme edging. It's not dangerous, your balls just hurt and feel heavy and swell up. It's called "blue balls", because sometimes your balls turn a bluish color, but mine usually don't. If you want, I can show you a picture.

The catch is, you have to be horny/aroused. Like you want to cum. You can feel it wanting to cum out, bur you intentionally deny yourself. Because I've gone for 2 weeks before without cumming, but it didn't matter, because I wasn't aroused. Blue balls only occur from prolonged sexual arousal without cumming.

    Hope that helps.

  • They don’t get heavier nor they change color. But when your about to cum but stop it feels like your dick is ready and whats to cum cuz your excited.. it’s like ordering a pie and not eating it after it’s brought to you.

  • Blue balls ate real. I never heard of heavy balls. Blue balls hurt and can hurt really bad. They don't just go away. The guy has to cum to release the "pressure". It feels like someone pounded on them for hours and are painful to touch.

  • So ladies... think about when you're going hot and heavy with a guy and you are so worked up and for whatever reason it has to stop... completely... I've been told females get the "heartbeat" in their clitoris or that throbbing... that's what it's like for us. It's not an everyday thing when you're just hanging around... you have to be brought to the edge and then denied... yes it hurts, hence the term.

  • meaning you're ready for sex and lots of it , but you have not hooked up

  • yes they are real. It happens after you get super horny and don't get a release. It causes an achey feeling in your balls and is annoying. It can be fixed by jacking off

  • Extreme cramping pain in the testicles.

Just bear through it and jerk off and cum and it will go away

    • Agree

    • Teenager lessons. Lol

  • It is real. It gets to a point where you keep getting boners and a sharp pain on your balls often until you cum.

  • Blue balls is when men do not but for a longer they feel a bit pain and heavyness in their balls... and yes it does happen sometimes

  • It's a real thing and honestly the longer you edge the more pleasure you get when you do cum.

    The weight.. myth
