What are the disadvantages of losing your virginity at a young age?

Not understanding sex well enough before hand. Going into sex with minimal to no understanding of it can lead to temporary or even perminent physical and/or emotional damage. the experience wouldn't be as enjoyable and it might even be haunting depending on how it turns out. Someone or both people could be getting in way over their heads. Could lead to unwanted nonconsent (instead of consentual nonconsent, yes that is a real thing for kinky people) because they didn't know how to say no, they might risk getting pregnant or an STD an a lot of other factors. The most important thing though is that a person needs to be educated about sex before they go into it, and a younger person can be if they do enough research about it on their own time since here in the US, kids have a terrible near non existent form of sex Ed and are unlikely to get enough information on the topic through school alone. Not to say that all younger people shouldn't have sex, just that if they choose to do it they should really have a good understanding of what it is, what happens, and all of the options they have for doing it safely while still enjoying it before they actually do it.

well why do you think people need to be educated about it and understand it before going into it? it seems simple enough

Well potential STI and STD are one thing. Pregnancy is another. A lot of people are too dependent of pulling out, or will find crazy loopholes for getting around using birth control and they don't work. I know one girl who actually believed her boyfriend when he said that genital warts weren't contagious. In reality it gave her a nice thick ring of them around her cervix and now she has a very high risk of giving them to anyone she wants to have sex with. A majority of STDs are perminent and/or too good at consistently coming back, and are not only a pain to have but are annoying to work your sex life around. but besides the basic sex horror stories, not knowing enough about sex can also make it far less enjoyable. It's far more than just stick it in the hole and get it over with. It's a very intimate and intense experience, and because of that can also be very good or very bad for whoever is doing it for many physical and psychological reasons.
