1. Hollywood (and/or your local equivalent) has given you some very strange ideas of what relationships are like. Some of those ideas are correct, some are not.

Oh! Forgot perhaps the most important one: don't worry about being perfect. WAY too much importance is placed on "the first time". Think of it like making dinner: even if it goes badly, you still get food, and you learn through practice how to do it better. Stupid human nature. Try not to worry about it too much. Do communicate what you want, though; what feels good and what doesn't. He won't be able to read your mind, and sometimes nonverbal signals can be confusing. Also, although this is more of a long-term thing: sometimes sexual incidents will end up outright comedic. Sex you can laugh about may not be the hottest, but it's still among the best.
