What are your thoughts about Telegony?

Basically it's a theory in heredity where any man that a woman has had unprotected sex with. They're body would absorb the dudes DNA though his sperm and could be passed on to any children she has with another man in the future. That the offspring can resemble a mother's previous sexual partner.

  • The only evidence of telegony is in one study on fruit flies which have numerous sexual partners during the same egg-production cycle: www.telegraph.co.uk/.../...of-future-children.html
The internet bloggers are loving this though so I'm having a hard time finding any respectable sources quite a few appeared to have religious motivations. One article you posted wrote in the end, "Now being older and more connected to my spiritual self I realize that sex is not something that is meant to be thrown around and given out so freely, it is a sacred act that creates a bond between two people that love and care about each other. It is so important for us (humanity) to realize this." The other is from a guy is obviously a misogynist. Why are you using a PUA as a source?

    • I've learned with gag it doesn't matter what website you put, it's probably still not 100% the truth.

    • I care. Besides that pig doesn't deserve the extra hits.

  • That explains why my brother kinda looks like my moms first husband even though she was a thousand miles away when he was conceived.

  • It's completely false and is biologically impossible.

  • I've studied genetics a bit. This sounds like complete BS based on what I know. Looking at the link and the studies they reference, it looks like they are religious people trying to pass a bunch of pseudoscience to trick women into being celibate. I'd look more into it, but I simply don't care. The reality of how you pass your genes to you are born with your eggs which have your genes in them. Nobodies sperm is going to get into those eggs and change your genes around. It just sounds pretty retarded even with that very basic logic applied. Let alone going much deeper into genetics in general, which I ain't gonna do. Don't worry about this, it's bullshit.

  • Thats bullshit xD

Foreign DNA cannot survive in your cells, it will trigger the immune system which will eradicate the infected cells.

And if the body could store foreign DNA, why store it? Why not just fertilise yourself? That would certainly be a useful feature during evolution.
