What became of the PSHS 2014 Stoner girls... almost a decade later...

I was looking through Facebook and my reunion is a measly 1 year away. I'm debating on going...

We were the stoners, lol.

My Friends ended up:

Pheobe (the over achiever and most feminist) VP of Sales at 27

Angela (not close with her, I kind of replaced her in the friend group) Ted Talks Speaker/ Software Engineer

Krista (My Bestie, and school hook up queen, we no longer speak) Facebook/Meta Recruiter/ Porn Star

Grace (My rival in the friend group, we went head-to-head a few times, the second most feminist) Emmy Winning Producer/Multimedia Journalist for a local news station

Marliana (The one who didn't smoke pot because her dad was a drug addict) Owns her own cleaning company, social media famous

Kaylee (My back up best friend's bestie) A professional psychic

Courtney (band geek who smoked pot) Got married, I think her husband's rich.

Hannah (Krista's back up best friend and the teen mom) Got married her husband is rich.

Katie (I was her rival, but she wasn't mine) Got married cheated on her husband a single mom as a result lives with her parents.

Annah (The drug addict, I was pretty close with her, but she wasn't my best friend.) Her baby's father denied her child. My heart breaks for her.

Tara (My back up best friend) Had a daughter, went back to college recently after not being able to find a job in her field.

Kayla (The junkie) Grand theft auto jail time. No remorse or feeling sorry for her, she dug her own grave.

Amanda (Kayla's cousin, didn't know her well) A failed modeling career, she escaped from rehab recently, theirs's a warrant out for her arrest.

Then theirs me I worked in corporate for a while and hated it/failed, I am now a casting director.

So, How'd your friend's end up?

  • What a good idea for a MyTake, myabe123. It was a really interesting and fun to read.

Unfortunately, I don't know what happened to many of my good friends from high school days.

I was a guitar player and was lead guitar and vocals in rock bands back then. I was also a surfer, liked cool (American) cars, and also got along with the people in the "hippie" clique (1970s iteration). The hippies were all about peace, love, Woodstock, civil rights, women's rights, environmentalism, liberty and freedom, anti-war and distrustful of authority. We were a perfect fit.

So my friends were mostly rockers, surfers and pseudo-hippies. Needless to say, there was a lot of partying.

My very first girlfriend, Donna, wound up marrying one of my best friends a couple of years after we had broken up. They had two daughters and eventually moved away. She was mayor of Temecula, Ca. for a few years. Her husband, Jerry, never learned a trade and was a handyman. He kept smoking weed and philandering until she finally divorced him. He must have been pretty worthless for her to do that. He never stayed in touch with me and I lost track of him. But she and I are Facebook friends. She's a happy grandma.

One very close friend, John, became a hospital executive and wound up getting a masters degree. He and his wife, Mickey (Michelle) were doing very well until he came down with Parkinson's. She was a friend from high school, as well, and worked as a police dispatcher until she retired. She stuck with John and treated him lovingly until he passed away a year or two ago. I used to stay in touch with John until it became impossible for him to communicate. He was good people.

One peripheral friend, Mike, quit dealing drugs and became a district attorney. Another very good friend, Bruce, became a successful defense attorney. He and I are Facebook friends.

One very good friend, Bill, wound up going to prison for a burglary or something. He was only in for a couple of years, but when he got out, he was bulked up like a body builder and addicted to heroin. He overdosed in his parents bathroom one day in his 30s.

A neighbor who I was friends with all my life became a successful travel agent specializing in cruises. He and his wife have traveled the world, dined at the captain's tables, and met celebrities. He also inherited a lot of money and property from his parents. I'm still in touch with him on occasion.

There's one close friend with whom I talk fairly regularly. He's retired now, like me, but he worked at different jobs including programming. He got a decent inheritance when his parents died.

One peripheral friend became a successful fashion photographer and moved to Paris for a while.

There are others that I wonder about and have tried to track down. I'd like to know how their lives turned out.

At 26 years old, with only a high school diploma, I was handed a wonderful job as a field adjuster/appraiser for an automobile insurance company. I worked there for 30 years and retired with a pension at age 56. In the meantime, my wife and I had bought a house. I also saved quite a bit for retirement.

    • Amazing story!

    • Thanks, myabe123. :-) The crowd I hung with were stoners, too. Peace, love and dope, man. LOL 🤜🤛✌️🤣

  • You’ll do well in 2023.😊
