In rough order: vikings, cold winters, a certain muppet chef, mildly dubious socio-political decisions, Paradox interactive, a very odd music video I saw in high school, Beowulf, candy fish and butter cookies that absolutely do NOT go together, lutefisk, extremely dubious socio-political decisions, and a set of languages that are frustratingly similar to English; often just different enough to be incomprehensible.

And isn't Iceland usually included?

A good list. No Iceland is more of a Nordic one. Us three are traditional Scandinavian lands. Iceland did not exist as a kingdom until Danish vikings colonized it after all.

It's a varied landscape to be sure. Thick forests in the south, mountainous in the west, deep dales and vales up north. You should totally ask the man you're dating currently to have a holiday here during Autumn. The golden woods here are absolutely stunning.

I never thought that many other nationalities besides the Germans enjoyed our forests but I guess I'm just used to the conditions since I've never used any extra gear myself. The forests of Belgium must be more annoyance-free I take it.

Only a few Belgians go to Norway and Sweden on holidays. But my father had to do with a company based near Trondheim in Norway and another near Orebro in Sweden. So, when he had to go there during our school holidaysin summer we could sometimes go with him and stay with the children of his contacts there.

I think of Sweden and Denmark mostly cause they're the two that invented the famous stuff. Norway is just the peasant brother that kowtows to whoever was the more dominant brother throughout history. Plus Oslo has such a heroin problem it really puts me off from Norway because they have no famous inventions and are only relevant because of oil. Otherwise their culture is not as innovative as Sweden or Denmark.

Iceland is too far away from everything for me. Plus people have to watch out from accidental incest.

Finland is very nice. People more laid back and sometimes even more beautiful I think because of Russian influence. Sauna is the best. I think they're my favorite after Sweden and Denmark.

I especially like Denmark for Novozymes company and Mosspiration company. And in general the Scandinavian focus on green technology companies. For me personally that's a business field I'd really like to get into so I appreciate Scandinavia for that type of work...

Swedish culture is more “pure” I feel like. Danish culture is more European influenced and Dutch like. I feel like it’s more artsy farts compared to other Scandinavian countries. But I like all of them (except Norway).
