Guys and Girls: Sorry - I had to chime in!

I had a guy chase me for a couple months, and we really hit it off when we finally went on a date. The attraction and the way we clicked, was incredible. We did end up having sex on our real "first date", even though we'd interacted many times over the previous months. It felt like a release of pent up tension.

In retrospect, I regret it because I think that set the tone for our relationship - which turned out to become FWB somehow. He is always respectful of me, and I set him straight if I even get the slightest inclination he is going to get out of line. It's been 3 years now, and unfortunately for me his girlfriends have come and gone but I am still here. I say that because it sucks being FWB if you have feelings for him. I know he cares about me on some level, and truly enjoys my company but I have damaged my "status" in his eyes for good. It's subtle and insidious the way it has happened, but it has occurred.

I doubt very much he ever disses me to his friends, since I have met a few of them and he has been very respectful - proud even. BUT I am destined to be stuck in FWB purgatory - and it's hell if you really care for the person. Never to be a girlfriend now. I would recommend avoiding the FWB limbo. Healthy boundaries and healthy relationships are much, much better.

Can't really tell you from personal experience (cause I'm not a guy lol) but I have a close male friend who has a fwb. They only meet to hook up and have sex. I've asked him about her and he doesn't think badly of her at all. He did say he wouldn't be looking for a relationship though. Still, he's very respectful towards her (doesn't share details about what they do, etc.) and doesn't think she's a 'whore' or 'slut'.

I'm very interested to see what other guys say though! I'm sure there are some guys out there with fwbs who consider those girls slutty.

I've only ever had one casual relationship I would call FWB and I think the whole thing that you hear other girls say about a guy "Disrespecting a girl who sleeps with him" is bullsh*t. I wouldn't be able to sleep with someone who I didn't have at least some level of respect for. For a guy, especially, a FWB is someone to have fun with when you get an urge. When I think of slut, there has to be some form of deception. As in a girl who is in a serious relationship but sleeping with other men behind their partners back, for example.

Since a FWB is mutually casual, there is no way to classify her as as slut.

I don't do this, but I am fairly certain that most think the girl is just a booty call. However, sometimes the guy or girl develops feelings for the other. If they develop feelings, they would prefer an actual relationship rather than fwb.
