I think most women would find it fairly regular that a guy will glance at her boobs. However, it becomes uncomfortable when a guy is ogling or just being blatent about it. I don't think a woman will think your weirdo creep unless you stare instead of glance. The way you have explained it does make me think you just like to look at women's bodies. However, if you're feeling awkward about it, then you should just move your eyes straight back up and just keep the conversation flowing. The way you currently do it sounds more awkward to me.
