What do so many people have against Asexual people?

The YouTuber Jaiden Animations recently made a video about her being aromatic and asexual that received tons of hate. My question is where is this coming from? I don’t understand, are people in our society this brainwashed that they believe it’s impossible for people to exist with feeling little to no romantic and sexual attraction?

I’m demi-pan which also falls under the asexual spectrum and have dealt with similar ridiculous hate in the past

  • I'm not a subscriber of Jaiden, but I'm very familiar with her and have seen enough of her content way back when (when I watched Domics, Odd1sOut, Egoraptor, etc) to know that she's been fairly good at not delving into too much detail about her personal life, especially with a platform as big as hers. Having such a large audience, there could be MANY reasons why people are upset, but what surprised me is how she titled the video and the thumbnail she used:

    I'm curious as to why she went with this, because some people might call this "gay baiting," right? When you see the pride flag, asexuality is the last thing one would expect... well, at least to me. I didn't even know there was an A in LGBTQ+ until I looked it up (LGBTQIA). I guess she COULD have used the aromantic/asexual flag colors she featured in her video. I don't know...

    There's the possibility that there are certain people within the alphabet community that do not consider asexuality as a legitimate sexuality, since I guess it's not like being gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc, things that are often looked down upon by the hyper conservative right winger types as "degeneracy." I guess it's a similar kind of "intersectional infighting" (as I like to call it) that goes on between TURFs and transwomen.

  • In a truly free society nobody has to have sex with anybody, nor is anyone prohibited from engaging in consensual sex acts between as many competent adults as all the participants agree on. This becomes problematic for the ruling classes when there are threats to the birth rate which adversely effect their cut of public revenue or taxes in whatever arrangement the local aristocracy in any disguise has with your local government. Right now as a society we are trying to navigate several threats to the birth rate of us tax cattle as well as the possibility of having to replace the numbers needed to achieve revenue value parity with pre- inflation tax receipts of previous years. Importation of population supplement may need to be imported from abroad at greater rates if the numbers born domestically fall too low. You didn’t actually believe western governments promote immigration for humanitarian reasons or that the money they throw at the first generation to get them established wouldn’t be recovered in the form of votes or future earning potential of their children, did you?

    • This is kind of off topic from my original question but yeah I already know this because the US uses and exploits the poor and needy. Just recently in my state a company was exposed for using slave labor by exploiting undocumented immigrants

    • My bad, you are correct that I changed the subject. I was putting out a theory of why the state is against people not having kids and it got off track. It is difficult not to get upset at a group which treats their fellow human beings like farm animals, whether that group calls itself government or anything else. Getting back to your original topic, some people fear difference, and some people take rejection of any romantic or sexual advances too personally because it harms their ego image that they can ‘get’ anyone they want. Instant gratification if any desire imaginable is what people in at least most of the west are being conditioned to right now, including sex, which just isn’t in line with reality nor should it be.

  • Don't think it's real. My experience of being asexual is that few know we exist or understand what is means to be asexual. My fiancée doesn't even know that I'm asexual. We get a lot of hate in my experience from the rest of the lgbtq community.

  • There are a lot of bigots in the world and people who just hate anything different.

    I also have an in built suspicion of anyone in public facing role, such as you tubers, Instagramers etc, who start throwing labels around.

    If she decided to open up about where she is on the spectrum, did she also provide some information on what it means to her, as it’s always important to seek to educate others, rather than simply throw labels around.

    It would also be good if she said she was professionally assessed, as that is another side that needs promoted, people need to be correctly assessed and help build a bigger picture.

    Also I personally believe Demis are sitting in the wrong area as they are not Asexual and it’s also a fairly sliding scale, and varies between people and genders.

  • Asexual people are less than 1% of the entire population of the world.
    Asexual is actually very rare and the majority of kids who claim to be asexual are actually just not into sex at that moment and say it to be “different and unique, like idiot cutters who jump on the I am different like everyone else kick. They are always under 25 years old and desperate for an identity.

    Asexual people NEVER change their mind later in life but most of these kids who claim to be asexual are under 20 and still haven’t even had a relationship yet.
