It's common for younger girls to like much older men, but some guys pretend as if it was rare, even though they say all men like to have sex with older woman.

I think a large percentage of men would like to date someone younger, but they don't think they can pull it off. They would feel awful if they asked someone younger out and they looked at him like he is nuts and how dare he ask. Men are used to being with women at least a little younger because we are condition by our girlfriends in high school. Unless you are very attractive and mature, girls won't hardly go out with a high school guy that is their age. Later in life, if a guy finds himself single, he might feel he is younger than he looks, if if he has made enough money, he may try to get a younger woman like a status symbol.

But for those younger girls who choose someone with a significant age difference, more will choose an older man rather than a younger man. There's a country song called Older Women. The chorus goes, "older women are beautiful lovers." But that's just a song. It is about preference in some instances. Its really about who you click with either older or younger. If both are happy, who cares about the ages.

gender does absolutely matter :D men don't typically go for older women, cause women generally will be infertile much sooner in life than men. and since most women still continue to work part time after their first child, women mostly go for older men who will have better and more stable income (older cause it takes time to be established in ones career, not cause the age itself would matter). you can't just act as if gender doesn't matter, when clearly it does. by the way, nothing i said here is "my opinion". it's just facts. i'm in social science, that's why i know.

i'll just give you the first result on google. ubp.uni-bamberg.de/.../600 this is pretty much a no brainer. it's such common knowlegde, you'll find that any study researching this arrives at the same conclusion. the only noticable difference between the studies is the variance in the age range of preference. the variance is often lower in women than in men.
