What do women THINK is the average dick size?

I was hanging out with a bunch of guy friends the other day, and one was saying his girlfriend thought that his dick was really big, but it was really just average, but she had never seen a dick up close, so she didn't have anything to compare it to. Plus, since girls aren't absolutly obsesed with dick size, they aren't constantly looking it up online. This got us thinking... what do girls THINK the average size of a adult male's erect penis, even if they have never seen one?

I agree with @Orion1015. I think on average, women just tend to be super bad at estimating stuff. Whether it's distances or weight or, well, penis sizes. My girlfriend thinks my penis is really big (as in: clearly over-average), when in reality, I'm in fact on the smaller side (just around 5 inches). It goes without explaining that I am very happy with her ignorance in this topic and leave her in her kinda wrong believe about my penis size. After five years of relationship, I've also come to the conclusion that eventually, it doesn't really matter much. We're both happy with our sex life and she's never complained about not being satisfied. For me, her satisfaction is the most important thing. If I can completely satisfy her with a 5-inch penis then what do I need 8 inches for. That's like cooking 6 pounds of pasta for your grandma for lunch. She won't be able to eat everything anyway, so you just end up having to throw away the rest.

Why not instead of asking them in inches you ask them by comparison to the size of their hand, as in one palm width, one and a half, two, two and a half, three, &etc.

Then they can actually go by their experience since I expect very few measure their boyfriends penis but most will have had their hands on it.

Everyone knows the average length of a penis is 5-6 inches. The problem of preference arises because most have little idea how long 5-6 inches really is.

Exactly. I have a 5 incher and girls have usually thought its 6-7 inches long. So it goes to show its not as easy as it seems to guess the measurement of something.

I remember reading somewhere that most women are notoriously bad at guessing penis size, tending to guess larger than it really is, on average.

I don't think it's a matter of not knowing the average, so much as guessing that a five inch dick is actually six inches, for example.
