  • I think the Age of Consent should be 16.

ALSO: I think there should be a “close-in-age exemption” for all 14 & 15-year olds — “to legally allow 14 & 15-year olds to consent to having sex with persons under the age of 19” (to allow “usual ‘high school’ age” students to have sex).

    NOTES:
Note 1: According to the following link, 142 (70%) of 202 countries around world have an Age of Consent of 16 or lower…

Note 2: In my reply to @SurströmmingLover ‘s Opinion on the following question…

What should be the age of consent?

…I point out that there are some differences between the European Country Ages of Consent identified in the link found in Note 1 above and the following link…

    https://jakubmarian.com/age-of-consent-by-country-in-europe/

I’m sure that other differences in cited Country Ages of Consent would also be found if other comparisons of links’ Age of Consent information were done.

***Note 3: The above information is just what I could find online; to determine what information is actually correct, you should investigate Age of Consent information more for yourself and talk with people that you know and trust.

    • Note 4. Regarding European Country Ages of Consent that I discussed in Note 3 above, the other Age of Consent link that was used for comparison purposes was the following…

      ***See Note 3 above.

    • * Correction: Regarding European Country Ages of Consent that I discussed in Note 2 above

    • Thanks for the MHO

  • So I ran into this issue when I was in highschool, I was a senior and she was sophomore I was 17 and she was 15. Then I turned 18 a month or two before she turned 16. At the time I believe the law in California was that as long as I was still in highschool and she was 16 and there was not more than a 3 years of separation in age it was legal... meaning I could not be arrested for statutory rape.

But now the law in California is 18 years old or nothing. Meaning if we were dating under the same conditions she was 15 and I was 17 I could not be arrested for statutory rape, but day I turned 18 then I could be if the relationship continued. And charge could be filed by her parents, not the girl herself because she is technically a minor.

Honestly I am good with the 18 years old, to protect these girls from guys in their 20's trying to date or take advantage of 16 year old highschool girls. But there should be some type of stipulation that covers the circumstances I was under at 17 then turning 18.

  • I don't think there's a one size fits all but we still need to protect children. On the other end of the scale you've only got to look at some of the questions on gag to see some older women are too dumb to be having sex.
I'd like to see a more flexible approach where young teens are only allowed to have sex with their parents consent, perhaps even a compulsory chat with their GP too.

    • @purplepoppy fully agree I admit I miss read it first time round, I missed out the word Consent, the sentence really does change 🤦 N yeah it’s a guy thing missing out consent …

    • I agree with that 100%. In Japan, our national age of consent is 13, but some prefectures have made that higher. However, these laws are enforced in a common-sense way. Naturally, young people are not prosecuted for having sex with each other if they are very close in age.

  • My answer is very complex because it would depend on education, maturity and at certain levels parental consent.

I have stopped putting my formula on public forum for what would be obvious reasons if you saw it, yet it make perfect sense... maybe that is the problem... lol

What do you think is the good age of consent?
    • Is the formula in that book? Or is this a formula you've made yourself?

    • @crmoore It's my own

    • Gotcha. I'm guessing people don't respond too kindly to it? I won't pry, if you're a little hesitant about talking about it. But if it's just being public that might discourage you, my DMs are open.

  • Should be at least 18 in my opinion
According to research, the human brain isn't fully developed till about 25. A 15 or 16 year old isn't emotionally mature yet to make such a serious decision.

  • I like 16. It's where we start to entrust our kids to drive, and there are many life altering decisions associated with that as well. There should also be a moving window, allowing for those close in age to not risk criminal charges.

  • when whom ever has an adult outlook on sexual things, no age barrier

  • Eighteen is fine by me. I don't talk to girls under 21 (18-21), anyway.

  • I heard once that you're not ready to have sex until you're ready to care for a baby... that's shocking for a lot of people but I think there's some truth to that.

  • I think that 16 is a good compromise. It works well here

  • Why should a child be allowed to have sex, but not buy a lottery ticket? How about drive a car? Buy alcohol? Get married? Serve in the armed forces?

    Things are so mixed up.

    • Why should a child be allowed to have sex?

    • @Dchrls78104 They should not.

    • @TrueConfection my point exactly.

  • 16 like how it already is in most states

  • I lost my virginity at 15 & I'd be a hypocrite to say any older.

    • Wouldn't it be less fun if it was legal?

  • Honestly 18

  • When there 21 or older. 😻

  • Unrestricted? 18. For sex with someone close in age? 15.

  • I agree with my country laws. So 16. But I also think we should adapt a Romeo and Juliet law into it.
Because it does not make a big difference between a 15 and 16 year old having sex so that should be allowed. Longs if it's only one year difference and in high school don't think it matters.
It becomes really weird and wrong when someone is still in high school but someone who's left and is in a job or something wants a high schooler. Unless they've only just left themselves.

  • With some of the girls I see, and the way they act, It should be 12 or 13. I get some very sexual things from very young girls, AND obviously the Age should not be that low but good grief, they must think it should be lower.

  • Me and most girls I've known started to seriously crave turgid penis by age 15.

    • Nice vocabulary/“SAT word”: “turgid” = swollen. When did most of the girls you knew/know first give a handjob, and first give a blowjob?

  • In the US in most states, the age of consent is 18, which makes sense; an individual can vote and enlist (or be drafted) into the military at that age. An argument could be made to lower it to 16, since that's when most states allow individuals to get their driver's license.

    • Only 11 of the 50 states have the age of consent at 18... Most states it's either 16 or 17.. https://www. bhwlawfirm. com/legal-age-consent-united-states-map/

  • 21, same age as the drinking age requirement.

  • Age 18, with a high school diploma, AKA "sex passport" in hand.

  • 21 to drink, vote, consent, smoke, drive
Kids today have less common sense. I'm seeing them mature between 25-30 more so these days. It's rather scary that the west has been raising perpetual children

  • That all depends on the laws for the person I think, I'm not sure but I think in florida it's 16 if it hasn't changed
