What does friends with benefits mean for you?

i mean besides the obvious being friends while having sex, do you think of it as a sexually exclusive thing or do you think of it as sexually open where both will have sex with other people also?

i know this can of course be discussed and decided individually but i wanna know what your default thought is when you think of friends with benefits.

Two of my guy friends do have "friends with benefits". From what they told me about it it's neither exclusive nor really a friendship, more like someone they spontaneously call for a quick fuck, sometimes also because they failed to get someone else into bed. I do not know if their behavior is in any means represential or not but my view of this is really negative 😅

  I'd say they're wrong then. It's a booty call relationship, I'd say, cause the sex is probably all they ever meet up for.

  That's a normal open relationship then. Cause really the reason I asked this is cause a girl I talked to said of course you have sex with several people at once in friends with benefits. But if you have sex with many people in friends with benefits, I don't see the difference between friends with benefits and open relationship.

  I’m open with my relationship partners, friends I’m open to having sex with but we’re not involved in a relationship. And friends with benefits, I have a few that are established as friends but with a regularity of sex.

When I think friends with benefits I think more than sexual benefit, but the benefit is exclusivity.

Sex friends are people you just hook up with and are only there for sex.

Hookups are self-explanatory.

  i think of it more like an intentional "short term" relationship. in situations where you know you'll have an unsteady live for the next few years and having a commited relationship would not be conductive to your career or just not able with the livestyle you have at the time. so for me it's sexually exclusive. i take it you think of it more like just fucking around then?

  I've had to open my mind to a lot of things I didn't want to once I saw they were the truth. Like men and women are different and we're not a blank slate , we can't just do what we want because the laws of the universe apply to us too. One man and one woman raising a family, that's why sex even exists not for us to enjoy ourselves. That is the truth whether we like it or not. All else is childishness.

  @On_cloud_wine For on thing no one else is involved. The thing is that human beings have a lot of perverted fetishes and perverted behavior. You'll never get away from it except of course by eugenics. Other than that you have to do the best you can. In Rome they used to say something like "allow me my face". More or less that meant that you behaved as civilized as you could at least in public. What ever human failings you had you at lest kept to yourself in the interest of protecting the society that kept everyone safe. If anything masturbation is the relief valve that should prevent a lot of this harmful behavior from coming to the surface.

  @On_cloud_wine I prefer it because it's less degenerate than bringing other people in to live a twisted debouched life. With masturbation at least there is only one person affected. There is also disease to consider, that kind of activity is how disease is spread.

Why not just make a pack and agree that no one’s hurting each other because you both want the same thing.

  @On_cloud_wine Masturbation means nothing, sex is quite different it's on an entirely different level. And yes I would have to be very committed to a woman to have sex with her. Sex is a want, not a need, one could live an entire life without it. There are other things to do. The only reason some people act as if they need sex is they are weak.

When you have friends with benefits it’s not exclusive however the benefits stand for the drama no strings attached and see whoever you want beside your friends with benefits
