What does it mean when your pupils dilate?

I've been told it mean you like the person you are near, is it actually true? Does it actually mean you like the person when your pupils dilate?

  • Depends on the room, and or where you are. If you're getting your eyes checked they have to because they have to check for diseases like glaucoma etc..

If you're in a dimly lit room, your eyes will dilate so that you can see in the dark.

If you're not in either, and they're still dilating, that means someone has caught your eye, your blood is pumping to your heart and telling your brain to "enlarge your eyes"

  • A little bit. The endorphin rush from being around a crush can causes the dilation, but I find it hard to notice

  • Nothing. No one really cares to be honest. It doesn't make you special or mean something special happened. Most people aren't even going to notice because there are more fun, interesting, noteworthy things than pupil dilation. -_-

So you can stop asking this question now lol

  • It's not a very reliable indicator of attraction. Pupil dilation can be affected by light, medical conditions, drugs certain medications. Even if it was because of attraction, there's no easy way of telling to whom.

  • i've heard this. Really, it just means it's dark.

  • nothing at all... don't believe those stuff :-)

  • Yes, I would say that is true

  • That's one possible reason. Another reason is that you're in a dark room, so your eyes need to adjust to the lower level of light. There are better ways to read a person's interest.

  • Pupil dilation could mean a lot of things.
