What is a good age to have consensual sex with an older man?

i’ve recently started talking to a very attractive man i met a couple months back. we have started to grow found of each other and i have found myself urging for a little more. our age difference is 5+ years. i don’t worry about if he’s using me considering he has respected me this whole time we have been talking and i really enjoy his company. what do you guys think on it? is it the right choice? am i stupid for considering sex this early on? and what is the appropriate action to do considering the age difference and the amount of time we’ve known each other?

5 year difference doesn't seem like much.

As for having sex; I personally consider sex to be sacred and for VERY special occasions. If it were me, I'd probably hold off on it for at least a year (maybe more). For me to want to have sex with someone for the first time, I'd want to know for sure that the woman I'm with can get along with me just fine without sex (or even the thought of it) for a REALLY long time. And when the time finally comes, it would make the sex that much more meaningful.

You say this is someone you've only known for a couple months, but only "recently" started getting close to. I'd say wait a little, but that's up to you.

Are you dating or just hanging out? If you are dating it's probably not too soon, if you're just hanging out maybe look at more of a relationship before sleeping with him. Some guys will hang on for a long time to get the chance to sleep with a particular girl and use all kinds of tactics. Age difference is irrelevant really, it only seems that way at your age, but if you were 40 and he was 45 you wouldn't think anything of it.

that age difference is nothing, in fact as I understand it years ago that was what seems to be the average age difference, it seems that years ago they looked to the future and retiring age was 65 for men and 60 for women so they could retire together, and I think older men when a girl is young is better more experience and can do it better

if you are 21 as your profile says then you are at this point a consenting adult. i would say 20/21 is a good age, if you guys get along well, common ground, interests, who are any of us to judge

At 21, five years is not that much of an age difference. The biggest thing is that you may still be in college, and he has started his career. Be patient with this relationship, ask if he is interesting dating. You both like there is a connection, so move forward and enjoy life with each other.

I married my wife when she was 30, and I was 40. After all these years together the age thing has never been an issue.

Normally I don't recommend it because of separate world views. Some older guys are creeps. I'd say be careful but you're a grown woman you make your own choices. It's normally just better to take it slow.

As we get older that little of an age difference doesn't matter.
You both will have enough in common, so that won't be an issue.
