What is a healthy body count?

I'm 26 years old and I've increased my body count quite a lot in the last year. I have never had sex with someone just once... but I don't seem to care about keeping someone around permanently... 😕 I wonder why I'm okay with random sex and no strings attached... anyone can relate?

  • Healthy?
You can get an STD from just one, an STD bad enough to ruin your life.
    It's a gamble, every time.
It came out during therapy at the beginning of our marriage. My wife and I are both mid-60's each.
We were both dealing with deeper issues.
I got that number in about 6 years, she did in about 4. Risky, dangerous, foolish.
She had friends raped behind the same clubs she frequented. Danger was all around us but it passed us by. We both know how fortunate we were.
None of what we did was healthy.
We love sex. Obviously I love talking about it. It's wonderful. But it also opens up doors to the dark side of people.
I'm full of advice. It's not for everyone as I've only seen mine and portions of my wife's perspective.
    I like seeing happy people.
I hope you find what you really need.
    Good luck.

    • Oh... I was way too willing to settle down. My wife was not... until I showed up. She just decided that it was going to be me. 18 years later... two kids... Maybe therapy might be something to consider. Not that you need to be fixed but that someone can help you explore your past and your mind and your perspective on the future and help you understand how outside events might have an impact on decision making and simply better understand yourself. And then, still, do what you want. Just a thought.

  • I was like you when I was in college and my early 20s. I just wanted to have as much sex as possible with different girls before I settled down. I am now engaged and love it but I do not regret my past. I used condoms every time and have a lot of great orgasms with a lot of great girls.

  • I can relate to you. I am very comfortable with short terms partners and one night stands. Like, I literally end up giving him a blowjob in his car without even knowing his name.
But if I'm looking for something long term, I make him wait for months and months before even kissing him.

I guess it's because it's too much of a pressure to date guys who are husband materials and not friends with benefits types.

  • Whatever is right for you. No wrong answer.

There’s another thread down further where we decided to say playmate instead of body count. :)

  • When it comes to sexual history, don't ask, don't tell.

  • When you say body count it sounds like you're murdering people, but yeah it is worrisome that you don't have interest in commitment. Might be problematic late in life.

  • It's not the number but the fact you don't want a permanent relationship that's worrisome

  • A healthy body count is whatever makes you happy.
The best is to assume our needs

  • Nope can't relate I'm 26 years old and my body count is still zero. :^/

  • My guess is that you lost your virginity in high school?

    • Nope I was 19

    • Oh I see, is it a turn off for you if a guy is a virgin or just sexually inexperienced? As in, he has only had sex a few times in his life and he is still a beginner

  • Whatever you're okay with. Mine is zero and that's what's right for me right now.
