What is Gender Identity and how it differs from person to person?

When we refer to science, we see things in absolutes. It's either yes or no. It's objective and not subjective. Thus according to science, there are only male gamets or female gamets. Objectively, you are either a male or a female and in rare biological cases, a Hermaphrodite (two gamets in one body). But when it comes to identity. It's more of a subjective matter.

Let me give you are small example. Suppose you were born in, say Canada, but you feel more at home with Mexican culture. Many people will find it strange, nonsense and offensive. But that won't change that fact that you feel more at home with Mexican culture despite being born as a Canadian. You can even opt for a Mexican citizenship if you had the means but till then you can wear Mexican clothes and accessories or whatever is available.

What is Gender Identity and how it differs from person to person?

Similarly when a person is assigned to, say male, they might feel more alive being a female. They cannot change the fact that they are were born as male. But they also cannot change the fact they love being female instead and feel more like themselves. Some opt for surgery while others just choose to opt for feminine fashion and whatever is available. And it's okay. It's okay to choose something that others normally don't choose. It's okay to be different. It's okay to feel like yourself by not confining yourself.

  • Gender identity is what happens when you don't have anything productive to do... like a job, and you start making up reasons to be a victim

  • Seek help.

  • It is nonsense

  • up until the last ten years or so, I had never heard anyone claim there was a difference between sex and gender but after living about two and half decades, some kids ten years younger than me, told me everything I had known on the subject, was wrong and because one was assigned and the other was your choice.

I care not one bit what someone chooses to call themselves, but I fail to see the need why brands need to promote it as if they actually give a fuck. Seems like just about everyone has a victims mindset these days and are told their concerns are valid, except for white men. Truth is though, the majority don't actually care about your problems, they got their own to deal with. So everyone just needs to grow some skin and focus on succeeding in their own life.

  • This is all nonsense that is used to make normal people feel special and confuse autistic people into sterilization. Stop trying to sterilize us. We deserve to have children as much as the rest of you do.

    • How does autism come into this?

    • The vast majority of people who suffer from gender dysphoria are autistic and they are also the most likely to get gender reassignment surgery.

  • This is all just a symptom of us living in a real-life Universe 25.

  • Thanks for telling everyone the same crap we have been force fed for years now.

gender identity is a nonsense, made-up idea that has literally put society into the toilet. Gender Dysphoria is a mental disorder that should be treated, not blindly accepted as some truth.

  • The word gender used to be meaningful, but it is meaningless now. It literally has no real meaning at all.

  • Thanks for presenting your opinion, but that's all it is. You are free to have it, and you can call yourself whatever you want, but you can't tell other people what to call you, or what to believe.

In the English language, the terms gender and sex were synonymous for centuries, and still are among the same majority. Only in the last few years has a small group of people tried to change the definition to mean something completely different than what it has always meant, and always will.

Here are some example of "genders" on the "official list" today.

Astergender - the person has a bright and celestial gender identity
Astral gender - having a gender identity that feels to be related to space
Autigender - having a gender identity that feels to be closely related to being autistic

Again, you can call yourself whatever you want, but the sane majority will never take such nonsense seriously, and will always view gender as what it is, a synonym to sex.

    • should we really let cultists like her have their opinions? society needs social norms to function

    • @007kingifrit Are you suggesting we should have thought police? That's exactly what these people want.

    • @007kingifrit Well I can call you a cultist too.
