What is so bad about having sex with a prostitute?

How come so many women wouldn't date a guy who has been with prostitutes?

A man says: " I do not want to be with a woman who has slept with a lot of guys" Get's called a misogynist, slut shamer, insecure, etc..

A woman says: " I do not want to be with a man who has been with a prostitute" That's fine and reasonable.

Double standard. Really and truly the only difference between the modern promiscuous girl and a prostitute is the prostitute gets paid directly to sleep around.

  • It's fine to sleep with prostitutes, I mean think about it, what you say is 100% correct. Woman sleeps with 100 men it's fine but a man sleeps with one prostitute it's a crime.

    • It is basically the other way around dude. When a guy sleeps with a hundred women, he's considered a player and "the man" for getting so many women to sleep with him. When a woman does this, she is called a slut. There is no "cool" side to sleeping with many guys as a woman. When a woman, as you say, sleeps with a hundred men, it is far from "fine" by most people's standards. She'd be shunned by men and women alike. As for sleeping with prostitutes, the stigma comes from the fact that it's a last resort. The stigma is that you, as a guy, simply cannot get any girl to sleep with you, so instead you pay for it. This is commonly seen as a pathetic thing. I'm not saying it is pathetic, but that is where the stigma comes from.

  • "a woman who has slept with a lot of guys" and "prostitute" are not the same thing. The second one is for money.

  • Someone who has been with a lot of guys, in a sense that she has been in many relationships instead of just sleeping around, then no it's not a double standard. However if she has been with guys solely for sex and expensive dates and things like that then it's fair to not want to date her.

    But with a prostitute, it shows that the man is buying sex. He has less significance and importance of love and commitment in sex, and he does not value it as much as a woman would like him to do so.

    So yes, it is reasonable.
