  • The most-effective firm of birth control BESIDES ABSTINENCE is the (In-arm) Implant, and then followed by Male sterilization and Hormonal IUD — see below…

The following article identifies the “effectiveness rates” for various birth control methods…

    https://www.health.com/condition/birth-control/birth-control-ranked-effectiveness?

Note 1: The above article says “the effectiveness rate is calculated by counting the number of women out of 100 who experience an unintended pregnancy during the first year of typical use.”

Note 2: Occasionally, the above article updates the effectivity rates [also identified as “Typical use failure rate”] of the birth control methods.

“Typical use failure rates” that are CURRENTLY identified in the above article (see Note 2 above)…

    1. (In-arm) Implant - Typical use failure rate: 0.1%

    2. Male sterilization - Typical use failure rate: 0.15%

    3. Hormonal IUD - Typical use failure rate: 0.1-0.4%

    4. Female sterilization (tubal ligation) - Typical use failure rate: 0.5%

    5. Copper IUD - Typical use failure rate: 0.8%

    6. Hormone injection (The shot) - Typical use failure rate: 4%

    7. The Pill - Typical use failure rate: 7%

    8. The Patch - Typical use failure rate: 7%

    9. (Vaginal) Ring - Typical use failure rate: 7%

    10. Male condom - Typical use failure rate: 13%

    11. Phexxi - Typical use failure rate: 14%

    12. Diaphragm - Typical use failure rate: 17%

    13. Female condom - Typical use failure rate: 21%

    14. Spermicide - Typical use failure rate: 21%

    15. Withdrawal (Pulling Out) - Typical use failure rate: 22%

    16. Fertility awareness - Typical use failure rate: 2-23%

    17. Sponge - Typical use failure rate: 27% in people who have given birth before; 14% in people who have never given birth before

    • Yes and the arm implant is awful, trust me. The best option is an iud

    • @artsy_dragon Why is the arm implant awful?

    • Because it made my periods all over the place, my hormones weird etc.

  • See this is pretty hard to answer. Statistically, and potency wise, problem the IUD or removing the reproductive organs so fertilization isn’t possible. When it comes down to preference, it’s a very individual choice. If I’m just hooking up with a random girl, of course I’ll use a condom. It’ll make an std more likely, and it’s a guarantee to make it much less likely she’ll get pregnant. Females lie about being on pills and shit so why risk it? But if she’s a long time girlfriend and I want to rawdog it, I hope she’s at least on pills.

  • I have asked this question before about birth control use when the abortion thing was a big g deal there for a while.
Most of the answers I received said "Birth control doesn't work!".
I, on the other hand promote doubling up on birth control. Like maybe the pill and a condom.
It's hard to please this crowd when it comes to suggestions of using birth control at all. People seem to be down on it.
Personally, I think birth control doesn't get used us because the people just want the sex! They don't want to deal with preparing for preventing a pregnancy. In fact, I was under the impression from some of the answers I received is that if they get pregnant, they'll just get an abortion. So, basically they'd rather use abortion than to use some type of birth control.
This begs the question: Is birth control too hard to get and that is why there are so many unplanned pregnancies?
There defense was, it doesn't work no matter what they have tried using. But is this really true?
As far as the pill, they don't want to put hormones in their body everyday.
    🤷🏼‍♀️

    • Close to no birthcontrole has 0% risk but that doesn't mean they dont work. Abortion should never be a planned contraceptive but even if you use BC there is always a small risk that something happens. If that is the case you should have the option to use abortion.

    • Thank you for choosing me as one of the most helpful girls. Sage🌹

  • The one that's right for your personal circumstances. These things undergo intensive testing for reliability so need to not use any.
Let's be honest most contraception failures are down to the woman sabotaging it to trap a guy.

    • Well said and true. Happened to my step brother, poor guy 😅

    • @purplepoppy Yes, I have heard of some girls/women taking a turkey baster and suck the guys sperm out of the condom he just ejaculated in. That's pretty wild huh? This is also a warning for the guys here - take your used condoms with you and dispose of them yourself.

  • I'm honestly scared of getting cancer from the pill-someone convinced me to go off of it years ago she has cancer blamed it on the pill, and at the time it made sense.

  • For different living situations different contraceptives can be more or less usefull. Also for some hormonal birth controle is not an option for some People.
I have a non-hormonal IUD and found it to be a great choice for us.

  • Other. A BC implant is best. Fit and forget for 3 years. Put in non dominant arm under locat anaesthetic. Only down side is the 4th one has to go in your dominant arm, so you need locals in both arms to remove the old one and insert the new one. I have had Nexplanon for 11 years now without trouble.

    • I should add that I have not had a period since I was 20. Just a by product. Saves money, too!

  • Celibacy

after that, vasectomy or tubal ligation

combo of birth control pills (her) and condom (him)=double protection

    • Great Minds think alike!

  • Celibacy. If i have sex with someone then I’m not afraid of getting pregnant. Once im in my 30s then I’ll likely get my tubes tied

  • ANYTHING which ABSOLUTELY blocks the fusion of a male sperm with female ovum. Period. ... THAT simple!
Parthenogenesis (VIRGIN birth) is exceedingly RARE, but has actual witnessed scientific precedent OUTSIDE of religious belief BUT, ALWAYS results in ONLY female progeny (NO male chromosome!)

What is the best form of contraception?
    • No, there has never been a human virgin birth ever. It can't happen. Some animals like green flies, a couple of sharks, a few reptiles and some plants can reproduce without sex but no mammals.

    • @OfDeath In seventy some years, I've learned to NEVER say 'never' ... especially with illicit genetic 'experiments---

    • It cannot happen naturally and has never happened in mammals.

  • Condoms never failed me once in 10 years so its good enough..

  • staying away from the opposite sex.

  • The pull out method... no comment

    • It's worked for me

  • Nothing is 100% besides abstinence

    • Are you 100% SURE? That's kinda DRASTIC, don't ya think?

  • But boring.

  • Best? Abstinence.

Otherwise: IUD and vasectomy and tube tying are all fantastic.

  • I don't think there is a best, whatever fits perfectly for the individuals

  • it will be the one you decide on after consulting with professionals and also considering your personal circumstances...

for example, condoms can be allergic to many people so, as much as they can help to most people, personally they will be of no help to you when you're allergic or, very sensitive to latex

  • You know the real answer. You just don’t like it.

  • Abstinence.

  • Vesectomy/tube tying or just not doing it.

  • Condoms are the only one that is a contraceptive and protects against diseases. It is by far the safest of the methods listed.

After my wife and I had our three kids I opted for a vasectomy.

  • Falcon punch?

  • Who the five dummies who chose pull out🤣
