First, a 20yo male is a MAN, not a boy! But regardless… For a 20yo man to be dating a 15yo girl, I don’t care how mature she is, it’s rape! I’d also add, that if the 20yo MAN has found his soulmate in a 15yo girl, then he must be one helluva immature little man! You also seem to be hung up on the fact that there is “ONLY” a 5yr age difference, and that if they were the same age difference, but both in their 20’s or 30’s there would be no issue, while you completely ignore the fact that the reason it is wrong, unethical, and of course illegal is because 15yo lack the maturity needed to make life changing decisions. That’s why we don’t let 15yo’s get married, get tattoos, get piercings (even ears in most states). 15yo’s cannot even leave the house wearing whatever they want, because they are still children! THAT is the issue most people here are having with your question, because SHE is a child, not because there is only 5yrs between them. What about an 18yo and a 13yo? Is THAT okay? I mean its the same age difference! What about two kids, let’s say a 16yo boy and an 11yo girl? You see its not the five year age difference, it’s because the girl is a child, and the MAN is an adult, and in our society we generally try to protect children from predators who would take advantage of their lack of maturity, especially at 15 when they THINK that they are all grown up! And I happen to have been 15, just 4yrs ago, so I know exactly how much I have matured in the past 4 years.

Ummm, that's indecency with a child under subsection a (1) in section 21.11 of the Texas penal code. One is a minor and one is more than 3 years older than the minor so the exemption carved out in b (1) isn't met here.

The male is guilty of a felony of the 2nd degree and shall be punished by imprisonment in the Texas Criminal Justice for any term of not more than 20 years and not less than 2 years and may be additionally punished by a fine not exceeding $10,000. They are also now a convicted felon and have to register as a sex offender for life, so good luck getting an apartment among other things...

You have to draw the line somewhere. 18 is generally considered adulthood, so that is as good a place as any in my opinion... In California they apparently think the line is 12 years old for consent... Thus, I would choose not to live, work, or play in a state like that. I know teenagers are going to have sex... When kids hit puberty it going to happen, but it's probably better if they stick to people around their own age and mental maturity levels until they are adults.

For that I was convicted!” Needless to say the other guy looked extremely petty and lost that election! Sometimes the “she must be 18” law seems pretty silly. But this guy has asked for specific and oft intimate details of every single woman who said she had a adult/child sexual relationship… every one! Isn’t it enough to just say “yes it happened with me and I married the guy”? There is something wrong with someone who asks for very specific details of relationships like that.
