What is your opinion on "super straight"?

A new trend on the wrong side of tiktok has come to light. People are now calling their sexuality "super straight". The " super" part being they will only date biological women. They even made their own flag in hopes to be in the lgbt + community.

I say biological women because it is generally straight men following this trend but I am sure there are some women also following

Personally, I think the only reason this was created was to discriminate and be transphobic. Straight still defines your sexuality, you just have a preference.

  • As someone looking from outside this nonsense war, I think it's fun and clever way to show middle finger to the people who think it's transphobic not to be attracted to trans people. Like if you are a straight man and reject a trans woman, you are transphobic. So now they join "the enemy's" camp and use their strategies against them and at the same time enjoy the protection of the community (or at least attempt to). And now if this new "super straight" group gets attacked in any way, the rest of the community are being hypocritical for discriminating someone's specific sexuality.

  • I feel like I finally have a home. A community I can call my own. I've been super straight since the day I was born.

  • It’s stupid we don’t need a new term for being straight if you are a straight guy you like women you don’t like penis, Trans women aren’t women there men. So of course your not going to sleep with a trans women if your straight. If your a straight women you like penis you don’t want to sleep with another women, because Tran men are women. You are straight, we don’t need a new word or Termanology to describe somebody who does not want to sleep with the same sex parts as then. Or a women who has taken testosterone in order to look like a man.

  • No opinion. Don't see an issue.

  • It is Transphobic, and it's unnessecary. It's why we don't have straight Pride, there isn't a need for it. We can readily assume, that if you don't have sex with people of your own gender, you are straight. You don't need a flag.

  • No such thing. If you only like women, you’re straight. There’s nothing super about it.

  • If I found out a "girl" I was dating was not born that way then its over.

If you were born with a Y chromosome and a dick you're not a woman no matter how much surgery you have.

Similarly, if you were born without a Y chromosome and a dick, you're not a man. No matter how much surgery you have.

    • You know female-presenting people can be born XY? And male presenting people can be born XX?

    • You know you're more likely to be a conjoined twin or a hermaphrodite than for that?

  • It's just another stupid 4chan meme, like 'it's ok to be white' that was meant to prove that the left is hypocritical and insane. To no one's surprise, the left fell for it, once again.

  • Lol. People (like me) have been using the term "super straight"
for decades now, but for different reason. And I'll admit
that this new trend of "super straight" does also fit me.

  • What is your opinion on "super straight"?

    ...

  • I take it it has been derived from the other trend of claiming that no one is actually fully straight but everyone are at least bisexual. Thus, super straight, I can understand that reaction given that the aforementioned suggestion is utterly silly.

  • Haven't we had enough of this "labeling" crap?

  • I agree about the discrimination. I haven't seen this trend, fuck trends, but you're saying this is from TikTok so I'm just gonna assume it's super cringe.

  • Trends usually dry out at some point.
Those that survive weren't trends after all.
Me: Why not just wait it out? It could be fun to see it evolve into 'mega-straight' and later 'giga-straight' :)
I think that people who TALK so much about their sexuality have little time left to actually practice it?

    • When super, mega, and giga straight combine they form a robot 20 stories tall that unsurprisingly is completely gay.

    • @razelove... which inevitably will lead to questions about this robot's dick size :D

    • The size is incomprehensible as with their powers combined its penis takes on the shape of a 4th dimensional object, only those who see it will gaze in awe at the reality breaking splendor, and never have the words to convey what they have seen, no modern technology will be able to record it, only its shadow will be captured in photos, artwork, and become the 8th wonder of the world. The hyper-straight penis.

  • Pathetic that they feel the need to explain themselves. I'm a straight man and people can take that however they want. I don't need colors to identify with or a flag to stand beside. I represent myself.

  • Lol that's literally no different than "straight"

    • Since the LGBT community claims that straight people should date trans people, it is. It's basically that, playing by their rule, telling them it's a new sexuality and therefore they have to respect that they aren't dating trans people.

    • No. You are allowed to have preference. But making a sexuality include this one preference which excludes an entire group of people is transphobic. Just like if there was a sexuality excluding poc it would be racist.

    • I don't care about your big words, miss. I won't date ANY trans person, at any point. Call me whatever you like, the best I'll do is laugh it off, as much as I laugh at people crying about all of this when it's literally how they made up their whole movement.

  • I think the idea of not being sexually attracted to transwomen is fine, cuz you really can't choose attraction. I just think that people shouldn't try and make it a "new sexuality". It's literally just being straight with preferences. It's simply not really necessary to have a new sexuality that excludes about 0.5% of people. However, not being sexually attracted to transwomen isn't a valid excuse for being discriminatory in general or disrespecting of people simply because they're trans. Just like racial preference.
TLDR: The idea behind the movement is okay, but trying to push it a some new sexuality is absolutely absurd, along with unironically labeling yourself "super straight". Just say you're straight, and if someone asks, just tell them you just so happen to not be attracted to transwomen.

    • Thank you! It's perfectly fine to have preferences that don't include trans people but making a sexuality out of it is crazy.

    • Mmmhmmm. I think that it's the most rational take I could think of about the situation. I think that most all "sexualities" that is basically explained as "it's pretty much like being *insert sexuality*, BUT..." just feels absolutely irrelevant if you can basically explain it by just using an already existing sexuality, cuz at that point, it's just preferences to me.

    • Apparently it's. I had that shit happen to me and I don't even know if I wouldn't date trans women, just not the ones that offer. I've seen people get canceled and beaten by this, just like I have seen gay guys being beaten for being gay, and straight guys being beaten by gay guys in the closet who accuse the straight guys of being gay. Which chicks I just haven't saw it but I don't doubt it though I have seen sexual assault over it just like with guys.

  • I mean, it is the logical conclusion to this entire LGBT whatever thing. People want to categorise all sorts of sexuality in all sorts of categories and sub categories and whatnot, so it's only logical to do the same for straight people and differentiate between those who are attracted to transgender and those who aren't.

  • I think both you and those people are in the wrong, for different reasons.

YOU are in the wrong by assuming that "Super Straights" are only giving themselves this title to discriminate against trans people. Just because you don't want to date a trans person for biological reasons, does NOT mean that you have ill will towards transgenders.

And THEY are in the wrong for trying to include themselves in the LGBT+ community. It's right there in the name: Super STRAIGHT. Their sexuality is traditional and the norm, which completely disqualifies them from being LGBT.

  • Yeah, would only date normal. Freak-shows need not apply.
