What old trend do you want to come back?

It can be fashion, toys, games or anything obscured before that has a potential which never got the chance to be popular. So currently that old toy from the 70s called clackers/knockers made a comeback here because of one wedding event that has that then it got popularized by kids at school and tik tok and now i can see many people even adults at the side of the street playing that thing and i have one too just out of curiosity. They're hard and they hurt if you mess up! But i was thinking there are more old trends that are actually forgotten and it would be interesting if more of them return instead of just having kids stay with their phone every time. I'd also want Skip It and Jack Stones to return!

This topic is suppose to be Entertainment and Arts but changed to Sexuality. Maybe it's because it has the word "toys" in it

  • Those click clack balls were horrible. They don't need to come back. They were difficult to do right. But even when you did it right, it was a big yaw. Plus they were pretty painful when you got hit in the wrist or hand bone - which happened all the damn time.

Frisbees were pretty damn cool. They are also timeless. I threw one a few days ago for the first time in years.

Yo-Yos are pretty fun. They made a comeback when I was in high school. It didn't take a whole lot of practice to get pretty decent with them.

Album (music). People who only download individual songs don't realize how much good music they miss by not getting entire albums.

Traveling by land, hiking, and wilderness backpacking. Nature in general. A picture of nature on a screen ain't nature.

Bicycles. Almost nobody rides bicycles any more.

"Cruising". Just getting in the car with a bunch of friends on a weekend and just cruise.

If I thought long enough I could probably list dozens of things.

What old trend do you want to come back?

It doesn't have to be the same brand, but the same kind of construction toy- it was essentially Legos, but PVC pipes and joints (that locked with a weird little wrench that even kids could use), that you could build into dozens of different things. My older siblings got a set back before I was born, and it got lost over time before I had a chance to play with it, and I'm still kind of bitter.

Obviously, I'm too heavy to use them now, but I've got niblings, and cousins, and they need there creativity stimulated, too.

    • That's not a trend. That's just simply a way of life since people had no choice.

  • The digital giga pets. My dad bought one for me when I was 12 but a friend stole it. I tried to buy it years later and it cost over a $120 so I did not buy it.

    • That's not a trend. That's common sense.

    • All just the same, I'd like for it to come back! XDD

    • Common sense is common sense and trend is a trend and to know the difference is a common sense

  • My family had a clacker ball type toy that was made in the 1950s. It had two rubber baseball sized balls and the cord on them was about 30" long. Additionally, there was a 6" long tube that the cords went through, positioned above the balls. You'd get the balls bouncing against each other, then you could slide the tube down the cord to shorten its length, making the balls bounce at a faster rate.

My dad said that it was a prototype of an invention made by a friend of his sister. True or not, I don't know. I've never seen another one like it.

It was a lot more fun than the 1970s clackers that I've seen and used.

What trend would I like to see come back? Common sense.

    • Explain how common sense is a trend? While I get that there are more stupid people voicing out these days, they're just the loud minority. If common sense just died out, wouldn't we all be erased?

  • Critical thinking skills.

    • Right. I was being cheeky.

  • Traditional Christian religion.

    • You mean those who practice crucifying anyone for not believing in God?

    • Who does that other than Saracens. When did Christians ever do that?

    • Ever since the holy romans broke free. And another "proper" christians would be the amish community. And it's ironic that you're using the internet right now.
