What's my likelihood of getting pregnancy if I had sex this week?

I'll be turning 36 on April and even though my extended youthful appearances (my babyface that a couple people commented about) gets others taken by surprise when I admit my age, it doesn't take away the reality of my limited time. I've already gotten checked at a fertility clinic and the doctor told me my count was still good for now but it can decrease by a lot the next year.

I've been chatting for a couple weeks with someone with my same goals and same timeframe. He wants to get me pregnant asap, tomorrow if possible.

My two last periods were from Jan 5th - Jan 10th and Jan 28th to Feb 4th. The last time I ever had sex with my then first boyfriend (now ex boyfriend) was way back in May 2007. Let's say things go well with him and we have planned unprotected sex on Sunday afternoon, tomorrow Feb 19th. What's the likelihood of getting pregnant? A high chance?

Note: I've never ever gotten pregnant in my life but yes I'm a fertile woman with no issues. The doctor said I was ok. But would tomorrow be a good timing? Is my likelihood good? I'm trying to have a child before my time runs out, before I become infertile by age.

  • Cycles are often 28 days, you’re most fertile as of day 12, Google things like cycle length, cervical mucus and ovulation test. Your cycle seems to be shorter with the 23 days you mention here. If you’re regular, your next period would be February 20. 12 days before was February 8 imho as most fertile moment. Hence sex now would most likely not yield a pregnancy. Calculate for next cycle and get your ovulation tests. Nothing wrong of course with daily sex the whole next cycle once your period is gone. More then once a day might bring his sperm count down. Only the first ejaculation of that day will be most fertile, so if you do things like handjobs and blowjobs make sure you do them after the first go inside your vagina.

    • Thank you for the calculation. That sucks. I'm sometimes an irregular. My periods have lately been coming earlier lately.

    • Then you’re anyway better off with LH testing. Google ‘fertile cervical mucus’ for some tips there too. Especially if you don’t live together as a couple you need to time well.

    • Thank you. There was no date, he never showed up and kept posponing the it to 2 hours later. I've blocked him.

  • Yeah you should be able to get pregnant...
I never timed any things like ovulation or periods like that but anytime my husband came inside me I got pregnant straight away..

    • Great. That's what I'm hoping for, to get pregnant immediately, right on the first couple attempts.

    • Well I hope it is easy for you and good luck!!

    • Thanks. The only thing small issue is hopefully it doesn't hurt the first attempts because I haven't had sex since May 2007. That's a long time and I might be tight by now.

  • You could get pregnant, 36 you said... I believe it's around 30 to 38 the eggs start declining and it will keep declining until you have no eggs... somewhere at 40ish, depending on your genetics.

Sperm swim around looking for eggs for about 12 days and then they die. If you just get creampied a lot you'll be like stacking up the sperm count inside you. Obviously, you are a woman and know it's not hard to find dudes to do that part for you. I think the main issue for the women that hit your age and suddenly just want a kid, is that they wanted a man of their own in the picture and won't just hand it out like they did when they were younger and on birth control. But if you're one of those women that just want a kid and that's it period... it shouldn't be hard for you. Put an ad up on doublelist dot com and you'll find plenty of free sperm donors.

Do that if that's what you want. Just don't come back to the internet at 45 crying and asking where have all the good men gone. 😂 A 45 year old with a kid isn't something a real winner of a man is going to really want.

    • Hopefully it all works out well and he's in the child's picture. Unfortunately I can't wait too long anymore. I've been wanting a child since I was 28 years old and kept waiting for my first boyfriend (I used used to date him in FL, USA and then had to return to my country and he would promise to come) to come to my country and form a family with him. He never came, left me waiting endlessly until I figured out it was all a scam and he had lovebombed me too much with ''I love you'' messages but never getting the flight tickets, progressing things, nothing. I wasted time by then. In terms of my count, I should've actually had more eggs. The reason is a bit lower (but still a good number) is because I had a surgical procedure on my left ovary. I was 31 when multiple cysts had to be removed, causing my left ovary to shrink in size and the removal of many eggs. That surgery dropped the number. Otherwise it would've been still higher. My own great-grandmother and grandma (both on my mom's side of the family) had late menopause, they had their periods all the way till their mid-late 50's. They were fertile even in all their 40's and even early 50's wow.

    • Unfortunately yes, you wasted your time on a particular type of man. Your genetics sounds a lot like mine. The fact that you know or known your great-grandparents tells me you're not like some who watched their grandmother die when they were a kid... and great grandparents long dead before they were born. I was raised by my great grandparents and he died at 98 and she died at 103. You might have a lot more time than most, but... You'll have to do something different than you've done for the last 20+ years. I have a question for you because of our similarities. Late puberty? I didn't really go through mine until and was about... lets just say I started it at 16 while most of the other kids already had growth spurts, girls had boobs already, and I was hairless on the face until about after high school. Now I look like a hairy Viking and growing a really long beard. I know I probably look young because I still get people testing me on my age when I try to buy alcohol... I'm fucking 40. That's my question to you out of curiosity... did you too have a late puberty compared to most of the others?

    • yeah I regret putting too much dedication, investment and time on a future faker who never even sent me a post card at least; he sent me nothing all those years. He even took money from me and never paid it back as promised. All the putting him in a pedestal, calling me my A+, my love, all that just to never get the most important thing I ever wanted from him; a damn marriage proposal ring (could've been any cheap one; I don't care about jewels nor gold but dammmit, a proposal after all those years waiting, improving in the kitchen, being committed, faithful, giving him money, etc) with the flight tickets and his promise to come to my country accomplished. Nope, he would kept referring to me as just a girlfriend and then degraded to just friend, horrible POS. Yeah my maternal great-grandmother died on Oct 2013, a couple days shy of her 102th b-day. Her mother (mom's great-grandmother) died at 105 years old. My great-grandmother's brother lived till 104 and sister till that age too. My grandmother is 80-81 and yes still alive. No I didn't get late puberty. Unfortunately I already started my period 2 months after my 11th b-day and even though I grew to 5'7... but it was at a slower pace since.
