Only male and female exist. This nonsense of being binary, no gender, girl as a guy, guy as a girl. It’s a disability and a genetic defect! It’s also a fad. Stop forcing, pushing and crying about it.
When you're asked about gender, it's usually M or F or anything in between. When asked about sex, your answer should always be YES!
I personally don’t think there is a difference
For hundreds of year, sex and gender were synonymous in the English language. They were exactly the same. But in recent years a small segment of society has hijacked the term gender and tried to change its meaning to fit their agenda.
Today, the term gender has been rendered meaningless. It literally has no meaning because it can mean whatever someone wants it to, which means it can mean anything and everything, so it literally means nothing at all.
Here are some examples of "genders" from the official list:
Astergender: The person has a bright and celestial gender identity.
Astral gender: Having a gender identity that feels to be related to space.
Autigender: Having a gender identity that feels to be closely related to being autistic.
Huh? What is the point of a word that literally can be any nonsensical thing a person chooses?
For normal, sane people, gender will always be what it always was in the past, a synonym to sex.

@TheSpaceGnome Yeah, it's just a joke anymore. What does it say about a society when they tolerate or take any of this seriously? The answer is not good. Western society sinks to lower and lower depths every day.
What happened is highschools and colleges lowered the bar on passing grade requirements for a diploma/degree because too many people were failing, so now people unqualified for a job are now getting those jobs, and their stupidity then influences the public standards and lists.

I honestly feel very out of place in the US these days. I was more at home here in the 1990s. But now I only seem to relate to countries like japan who still value competency, challenge, and logic.
Sometimes I wonder if these articles are made up. Then I remember that most news is made up, and people that stupid really do exist, so I just ignore it, because either way, it's a product of the mentally retarded.
@TheSpaceGnome Agreed. The US is spiraling downward toward disaster, but there are too many people who are either too dumb or too dishonest to see the reasons why it's happening. I try to ignore them too, but it's impossible to not see how it affects all of us. Our children are our future, and our public schools don't serve our children well, at all. It's a recipe for disaster in the current global economy. The US is doomed if it stays on its current path. There are many other countries where normal, sane values are still the norm. They are the future of life on this planet.
This is one reason why I want to start a country full of nothing but geniuses.

Sex is whether you're a boy or girl. Gender is how your sexuality is referred to in writing or speech, he/she, male/female, him/her, etc. No one ever gets this right.
