What's with the tall guy fetish? I do a lot of online dating and a lot of women seem to have a tall guy fetish. Which do you prefer?

Even short women who are 5'2 often say they want a tall guy who is 5'10 or taller. Is there a benefit to having a man tower over you? Is this an Electra complex because daddy towered over you and you felt protected as a little girl? What's the deal? What do you prefer? Also do you like short guys or prefer men closer to your height?

  • Dude it's simple the more money you make i. e. 100,000 plus a year. The women will flock to you. It's not really about a fetish. More so they want to feel that you can provide for them. So if you want to provide for them make a lot of money. Then you can bang as many women as you want. Look at Hugh Hefner dude is like 90 years old and still banging Beautiful women. Why Becasue of money and power. Simple.

  • This same thing can be said about men and having short girl preferences. I personally I have found height to not be a big issue unless you make it one 5'6. I wouldn't worry too much about the profile height preferences and just make a move. Height won't be all end all in any relationship 90% of the time...

  • I'm 5'4 and 5'11 would probably have to be my ideal height for a guy- however I'd be fine dating a guy who's my height as well. As for the reason behind liking tall guys, I think that it's because they view it as protection/ like seeing him as their protector, also I think most girls like the idea of their SO being taller than their dad, and might sometimes view taller guys as more powerful.

  • I honestly have no idea why I love tall guys, but I will tell you, it is absolutely NOT because of my father.
    I don't have a set height that I want though. As long as they are taller than me, (I'm 5'2") I'd give them a chance. Even if they were my height, if they can win me over, I won't turn them down because they aren't taller.

  • Keep in mind that 5'10 is average height so, I don't think having that as set minimum is too far of a stretch. As a 5'2" female, I prefer not to date a guy over 6'2 . Height is a sexual preference, not a fetish. You also can't pretend like some men don't have height preferences either. It goes both ways.

    • Actually today the average height is 5'8 for a male and 5'2 for a female. of course some statistics show that increasing over the past 5-10 years to 5'9 for males and 5'6 for females. That is average for the US not the world. there are also regional and ethnic differences. 5'10 is taller than average in any statistic

    • Also I never known a man who had a height preference when it came to sex. We are all the same size lying down. Plus a lot of guys will will screw just about any girl they can. As for dating most men don't like tall women unless they are tall as well. But when offered sex Height is never an issue for a guy. As for dating... test the waters and see where things go or you move on depending on many factors. I'm just saying once the guard is down and you've had sex anything is possible. The thing is these outrageous preferences hurts dating and the chance of getting into a romantic relationship.

    • The last time I checked 5'10 is average in the US statistically for adult males. I have also seen 5'10 as average height from personal experience. I was going with US statistics because it says that you live in the U. S. Maybe it's a generational difference also because you are 13 years older than myself but, people are growing taller now. Now, yes, I do agree that asking for man to be "NBA" height is a bit ridiculous.

  • It's because they think tall guys are better protectors and that it's more masculine. That's not always the case at all. As for me, I prefer a guy to be close to my height, but I'm 6'1" so he'd have to be fairly tall too.

  • I'm 5'6".. Husband 6'6".. I have come to realize the difference of a foot is an issue. I prefer 6' even or same height up to it. Girls probably assume taller equals larger cock so they aim for it.. Its stupid. But could be other reasons too.
