What’s your opinion on 13 year olds watching a PG13 movie or series without an adult?

Usually whenever I watch a PG13 movie my parents were always there so they can teach me what is right, what is wrong and to say that this is not meant to be done in reality. I don’t think it’s a very good idea to let them watch a movie or series without adult supervision because some of those PG13 movies can be very violent or using lots of profanities. Nowadays teenagers as young as 12 has view porn even though they’re not of a suitable age. I think it’s better teenagers don’t know about foreplay, if they do they may have sex at a very young age. My favourite R rated series was Titans and Mirai Nikki (anime). Please don’t watch these series unless you’re 21 because there’s lots of violence and Mirai Nikki had lots of killing and sadism. It’s kinda bad I knew about foreplay when I was 14 it’s not really a good thing tho. I feel that guys and girls should only know about foreplay when they’re 21. I apologise if I sound a little old fashion lol

Superb Opinion

  • PG13 means Parental guidance suggested for children under the age of 13. So a 13 year old watching a PG 13 movie is probably fine, presuming the 13 year old can handle it in a responsible way. If they don't, then that trust gets revoked in my household.

    • Usually 13 year old are suppose to know that seduction shouldn’t be done on people who don’t consent?

    • I'm not sure how many PG 13 films portray rape, let alone rape without consequence as though its a good thing.

    • I was watching an anime called My Hero Academia where MT Lady and Midnight try to seduce boys in a classroom by the way they posed and it’s only PG13.

  • Not old fashioned to want to raise your children right. That's why it must begin from infancy. Children will learn one way or another either from you or their peers. It's best if it's you. This includes things of a sexual nature. Teach them the right way to view the opposite sex, and explain why porn and other things are not a reality.

    • At what age should the child be if I want to teach him/her to have respect for the opposite sex and that porn is not real?

    • As soon as interest starts to show. Make sure to have a good relationship with them so they can feel open to talk about the matter. Listen patiently and then respond, as many times as is needed.

    • When I was 10 I had my first crush so maybe I should teach my kids when they’re 9 or 10 years old

  • If it's rated ok for 13 year olds then they should be able to watch it without supervision. If you don't understand at that age that you should not punch someone in the face or whatever they see then the explanation comes a couple years too late

  • It's fine. PG13 means it's recommended adult supervision for under 13s, a 13 year old could watch it unsupervised.

  • The official definition of pg13 movies is anyone under 13 is advised to buy watch so if you’re 13 it’s fine

  • 9 year olds watch that stuff

  • Fine by me

  • Not ok

  • I don’t see a problem with them watching it on their own. By the time they are 13 the parents should have already watched things with them and had those types of discussions and lessons so that when they are 13 they can begin making decisions and connections on their own without their parent right there next to them holding their hands. A teen needs some autonomy in my opinion

  • Kids these dsys aren't kids

    • Are they able to distinguish fantasy from reality when they’re 13?

    • Yes ig. They are too fast. If not under the guidance of parents they have internet so yes...

  • If it is overly violent I'm against it. If there are just big bouncing breasts and round butts then I'm for it.

  • Meh, sketchy.
