I hate GAG but I won't leave

Bounces between love and hate. Sometimes I think I posted a pretty civil response and some person just comes out of the blue and attacks me. Then I think this site is starting to suck. Sometimes I'm guilty of posting a belligerent answer though (although I'm usually way drunk when I do), usually after getting above former experience, and I'm cool with equally belligerent responses. But it's when I'm trying to be so civil and the person responding to me isn't trying at all that I think this site starts to suck a bit.

The other one that ticks me off is when I write like a 4-paragraph, very polite, carefully proofread response to some question and the person asking the Q (usually an anon) deletes my answers right away. That's pretty annoying!

It only happens maybe once a hundred times, but I'm a speed-typer so I can sometimes write over a hundred multi-paragraph answers in a single day. So sometimes it happens to me almost every day if I'm really active and prolific, and I think it's bullshit that someone asking a question can just delete your answer on a whim.

I never blame those people though. I blame the site's design for enabling or encouraging such people.

By the way, the reason I now type this way into multiple comments is partially in response to the way askers can delete my answer. I avoid spending too much time before it gets deleted if I just improvise and keep going and going in the comments without spending a whole hour writing and editing and proof-reading one of my answers.

I am currently on a don’t like phase with GaG.

in last few weeks it has definitely went down hill dramatically.

I am looking for another place to reside and have chatted to others that are of a similar mind.

it is however important to be aware the grass is not always greener on the other side.

there are some really great people here and it’s a couple of those that are the only reason I am still here.

Over last few weeks I’ve also notice more and more that you can put down the most offensive comment going and it’s not removed, however any attempt at humour that breaks grammar rules is deleted.

Which sums up GaG, ‘Be offensive, don’t be funny’.
