What should I do about my doctor touching me?

Hey, i recall my doctor touching me when i was a kid. Its such a blur and almost forgotten but i clearly remember the days i went to his clinic. It comes to my mind rarely but i feel so weird cuz i just now understand he wasn’t examining me but literally rubbing me. I didn't know anything about it back then and thought there was something to be cured and he was doing his job. But now i know it was just sexual. It was not my fault but I don't know. I was in grad school when that happened and now senior in college. But i sometimes remember that. Should i move on? or keep feeling weird whenever I remember that ;( i need some advice

I'm not about to question or doubt what you think may have happened, but when I was a small child (in the 1960s), my mother was always in the examination room with me or with my sister. Decades later, it seems hard to imagine a doctor left alone in an examination room with a small child.

Regardless, it is a long accepted practice (though not an actual law) that a "chaperone" the same sex as the patient be present in the examination room when the patient is being examined by of physician of the opposite sex. Adults may waive this- children cannot.

In order to practice medicine in the United States, doctor must be licensed in each state where they have practice. Each state has a medical board. If you know the name of the doctor, contact the MB in writing to determine your doctor's disciplinary history. If it's a blank- no complaints, you can tarnish (or destroy) a doctor's medical career with your accusations.

There's a lot on the line based solely on "a blur and almost forgotten." Proceed as you see fit.

Get therapy, talk to someone. Make sure the one you talk to is a person you trust preferably not a man, especially not a man in some sorta hierarchy social status power.

Reasons for this, information like this been told to a person who may also be another abuser will hold it over you or manipulate you in someway with it.
Basically a man would could also be nasty, could use this as advantage. It's very important to know this.

I’m not sure, my mom always stays in the room while I’m getting a check up to make sure that doesn’t happen

We were behind the curtain all the time, even tho my grandma was actually in the room all the time …

The problem is if i ever tell this to my mom, im pretty sure she won't do anything and at some point will accuse me for letting this to happen :/

Do you care whether he is still doing this to other young girls?

I dont know, i was going there with my grandma, he was maybe more comfortable with doing this to me since i was a little girl with a really old person accompanying me..

You can definitely report him to the police and to the AMA.

If you live in the US, maybe check your state medical board's website and see if there have ever been similar complaints against that doctor. That and Google his name to see if any newspaper articles show up or anything like that.
