Best to find out what it means to him. There are some sites (like mojoupgrade) that have questionaiers that you can both answer, then it tells you the things you both like (to avoid embarssment).

"dominate" can mean very different things to different people, so you have to ask. It can be anything from you just taking a controlling role in bed (telling him what you want, riding him etc), to harder BDSM stuff.
