What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

This is a controversial issue that is rarely or never addressed. A lot people assume that men can't be raped due to ignorance and or stupidity. They assume an erection means he enjoys it. When the rape is discussed in public, people instantly assume "male perpetrator and female victim." They forget about female perpetrator and male victim, or male perpetrator and male victim.

What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

If a man is raped by a woman he will get laughed at. However people still deny that, even if they know it's true. Those people that laugh at men probably know that men can get raped but they don't value men's rights. They value women's rights more than men's rights.

What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

If a guy does make a report that he was was raped by a woman, he will either get laughed at, get his sexual orientation questioned, or get in trouble. Worst case scenario, he will suffer all three.

What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

We currently hear stories of men groping women but when women grope men there is no outrage, we're is the outrage?! By this pathetic logic, we are suppose to like being touched just because we are men.

What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

The CDC(center for disease control) states that more men are raped than the statistics say but men are afraid to come forward due to the reasons I stated above.

"If you are erect, then you want to engage in sexual activity." Obviously people who say that just don't know how a man's body works. An erection can easily happen even from a gentle touch down there. Whenever a man goes to get his prostate checked by a doctor (digital rectal exam), he may experience a erection. Erections can be voluntary or involuntary.

What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

"At least men don't get pregnant from rape." No, really? Of course men don't get pregnant but they do suffer mental trauma and can get a STD.To think one gender has it worse is just pathetic.

What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

There are many ways women and men rape men. One is violence: a group of women and or men may restrain a man while one of those women or men performs sexual acts on him. Another one is drugging: a woman or man may drug a man's beverage and after he drinks it, he will be defenseless. Another one is psychological pressure: the woman or man may threaten to him by telling him "I'll tell everyone that you are gay." (No offense to gay people by the way) Another one is dominance: if the woman or man manages to overpower the man, this usually happens if the man is scared and doesn't know how to defend himself/doesn't have fighting skills.

What Will it Take for Male Victims of Sexual Abuse to be Taken Seriously?

I'm in appalled that so many people are oblivious to male sex abuse, or perhaps people don't care. Thankfully I've never suffered any kind of abuse but I still show sympathy to the men that have suffered any kind of abuse.

  • Feminists deliberately hide this information in government reports because they know most people are good and wouldn't stand for this if the truth go out.

I think just getting the information out into the open and getting people to talk about it is 50% of the battle, the other 50% will be fighting the Feminists who work tirelessly to sweep this kind of info under the rug.

    • What are you talking about? men can only get raped by men, not women.

    • @Winrey700 Nope. Men get raped by women at nearly the same rate as women get raped by men. A Feminist, can't recall her name, was in charge of the FBI report on the issue and decided to hide the male victims of female rapists under "forced envelopment" in another section entirely of the report. You are half right though, it was only VERY recently, like the last several years, that a woman raping a man was actually considered rape in the FBI definition.

    • @Winrey700 another part of the problem is that men SIGNIFICANTLY under report sexual assault and rape than women are so the real numbers are likely much higher but there is no way to know. There is also far less help for male rape victims and male rape victims are often not even believed because plenty of people, even the police, are REALLY dumb and actually believe that a man can't be raped by a woman so it's a pretty serious issue.

  • I suppose society has to change - Obviously awareness has to increase then I don't know in what order this should happen but intolerance of it/reporting of it/charges and strong custodial sentences.

  • The big reason why is because of political pressure from feminist groups in the 70s and early 80s. There was a number of political motivations the key one was a redefinition of rape to include penetration rather than unwanted sexual contact.
The reason was fairly simple, it was to fit the feminist narrative of "one woman" and that men use domestic violence and rape as tools to control and demean women. If women also were domesticly violent and also raped it would undermine that narrative, and so that information was intentionally (and in some cases violently) suppressed. So what you are fighting is feminist propaganda hence the reason why it's so hard to overcome this idea.

  • For once I'm glad you wrote about a real issue as opposed to the usual "women aren't attracted to men". Good take!

  • Men have responsibilities, not rights.

    • So you are one those men that betrays their own gender.

    • Just an accurate observation dude

    • Are you saying that because you are a man, you don't deserve rights?

  • Amen brother, Kick ass article!

If I was a millionaire myself I would of pay Time Magazine or any other popular magazine companies out there to fucking publish your Mytake to the world. sadly we do live in such a ignorant and gynocentric society that everyone thinks all of us men are all a bunch of Superman clones and nothing can happen to us. its also funny how women today are obsess with the term rape like its something that is going out of style; I bet these same women who are obsess with this term and continue to insinuate that all women are potential rape victims are also those who know men could get rape to but they again insinuate to cover up the sun with their little index finger.

but I'm glad to see that a lot of men are waking up for once and you are a prime example brother... keep up the good work!

    • Thank you.

  • If they were 'raped' by Hillary, the whole USA would be interested.

    content.sweetim.com/.../00020077.gif

  • True that!

It's something worth fighting for in order for male rape cases to be recognized in society. Stereotypes also need to die.

Male rape is realistic and possible. Rape is rape and it's not funny!

    • @Winrey700 I do not wish to interact with people lacking intellect or are simply "trolls" on purpose any longer. The opinions of those do not count for me. From now on you are out of my sight.

  • I do agree that we should be taking this more seriously, and my deepest condolences go out to the victims, but I feel that it's other men who need to start taking male sexual assualt more seriously. Of course it's society as a whole but other men rarely take this topic seriously.

As @Luci92 said, when young boys are sexually assaulted by female teachers, guys joke around and tell the man to toughen up, or jokingly wish that it would happen to them. I see this in YouTube comments often other teacher student relations. Men need to start taking this seriously and speaking up about it then we can start making repairs within he community.

    • It's the white knights/male feminists that joke about other men.

    • It's both men AND women who need to take it seriously. Our gender I'd equally guilty in dismissing it as a problem.

    • @PrincessofNohr I said that in my opinion

  • I write about male sexual abuse a lot. People are very supportive and understanding towards Nelson. And they understand his pain and they feel for him. A few people even wanted the female rapist dead. I feel proud I was able to do that.

    • Thank you.

    • Opinion owner. You sure do , I've read them a lot and thank you for being sensitive about matters that affect both men and women alike. Your a good person for carrying the way you do.

  • Women can't rape men because they don't have the biological capabilities to commit rape since women are the receivers not the giver. They are minimal reports of certain men who get kidnapped by specific groups of women where they would commit sexual torture on those men but those women are usually sick in head. On the other hand women can sexually harass men by objectifying, groping or by verbal sexual torment which is considered an offence if the victim feels violated in any way.

Although men are raped more and are much likely to be attacked than women are, reasons why I don't understand why feminism is so important when its men who are discriminated more. Women are objectified for their physique only, men are objectified in all aspects of life but feminism can't see that.

Men are raped more than women but its not women who do the raping, men are raped by other men whether those men are homosexual, Bisexual or even heterosexual.

    • How do men get raped? If a man has a erection with a woman then it's not rape.

    • @Winrey700 your point is woman? If you read my comment men can't get raped.

  • this is real and should be taken seriously

  • Only gay men can get raped by a woman.

  • Well a good throat punch stops it... well kinda just stops everything lol.

  • If you're between the ages of 18-35, not ever married, with no kids and drug & disease free, I am open to being raped by you if you're at least a 8/10 or better according to Donald Trump's scale.

    • it's not rape if you want it I'm tired of people saying that

  • Good take. I don't know why but for some reason we as a people don't care what happens to men, unless they are within our own circle. Not just rape but anything harmful.

  • U cam only get raped by a woman if ur a kid or teen. Other than that grown men can only rape man.

U can be sexually assaulted sure but raped it very Unlikely

    • Depends on your definition of rape.

    • @Holygirl01 yeah because these feminist definition of being raped is saying hi

  • If a man gets a reaction and feels physical pleasure from a woman and climaxes then it's not rape, there is no way a man can get raped if his penis felt pleasure and climaxed, let alone get a erection.

    • I'm sorry to break it out to you like that but you clearly do not understand how a penis works.

    • @Unit1 it's common sense, for example if a man is gay and not attracted to a woman then he's not going to get a erection nor is he going to climax, same thing if it's a straight guy being sexually assaulted by a ugly woman. Your penis is not going to climax and feel pleasure if there is no sexual excitement period.

    • You just confirmed what I said and you use the word common sense wrongly. Help yourself please.

  • Start with reporting to the police.

    • Here’s what happens when male victims report. www.nationalparentsorganization.org/.../3972-researcher-what-hap-3972

    • How does that work? She says in return "aaah, he hit me", maybe drop a tear here or there to make it more believable? The police are incredibly gullible, these reports are false or there is more to the story.

    • That kind of attitude is why male victims rarely come forward. People automatically refuse to believe them.
